Just wondering what's the oldest dog y'all have that still hunts. I have one around 8 and still going strong!

Got one that's 11 hardly ever hunt him any more. He's blind in one eye

I've had several still going strong and doing a good job at 10 to 12 years of age and a couple that would go find you a hog at 14. Some of the dogs I bred lived to be 17 to 18 years old.

My husband has an 11yr old Catahoula, who would hunt all day if you let her, but we were forced to retire her just last year as she became epileptic, and as soon as her pressure gets up when she gets to baying she starts having a bad seizure....such a shame.

My oldest dog was a catchdog we figured to be close to 14 or so when he died of old age in his kennel. Oldest cur dog was around the same.

Oldest I had was 12... He would still find a hog but had gotten a little out of shape ha he passed away a few months ago.. Now my oldest is 8 and we still take him to catch hogs or help out on new catch dogs.

My dad had a lacy dog that was 15 or so when she decided to go out with a bang and killed a porkypine and they put her to sleep she was in such bad shape from the quills

My oldest dog is 6 and she is in her prime I think . I hunted with a friend of mine Sunday morning and he had his old dog peanutbutter with us he is 13or14 still going good for as many times he has been cut up and down  . He can barly hear an his legs are a little week but when we got into the bay  he was still in there giving it hell.. I asked him how many hogs has he cought with that dog . He said that is a million dallor question he don't know but A LOT. He told me he will hunt him until the day he can't load up in stock trailer ..
