Have any of you had a patterdale that would tree? I've been wanting a squirrel dog and I've got two patterdale pups that are ready to start I just can't find anything that says a patterdale will tree. Any info appreciated.

well take them to the woods and see if they'll tree  .  kill you a squirrel or pick you up a fresh road kill something or another and hang it up in a tree  .   it may not be a breed specific thing for them to tree but one of the two you have might  . lots of terriers tree  just some better than others . but as for your question  I SURELY DON'T LNOW     lol

You ain't lyin they climb around their kennel like cats. Their claws are even similar to a coon or somethin more so than other dogs. They've got cool little personalities about them.

Never owned a Patterdale but I'v had several rat terriers and JRT crosses. Mainly used them as jump dogs for rabbit hunting. I hunt and raise tree dogs now, I'm going to say the odds are against you, hard to find a tree dog out of ground dog stock.

I bet they will tree if you take them to the woods.
