different pups different ages to start . how often does the dog get a chance to find a pig ? that makes all the difference in the world . have you taken the pup out solo to let it develop it's desire to hunt on it's own ?

This is a question you will have to answer your self and you have to consider what you are hunting if you throw a pup on the ground with a stem winder of a dog he will probably never out strike the old dog so this is why I like one out dogs you can see what every thing is doing

I've never hunted her by herself but she's been on several hog. She hates a hogs. She's real gritty. I just put her on the ground with my lead dog.

Why cull a pup??? She is just that. Isn't she?? If she is truly just a pup let her grow.

A good strike dog doesn't eat any more than a bad one! But a puppy is a different story, some dogs are late starters and some early. Depends how tired you are of feeding a dog that isn't helping find pigs.
