I've never cared one way or the other whether the dogs I hunted were registered or not. Most of the time those registered dogs were priced higher than I wanted to pay anyway so I just stuck to what I knew.

There was a time (in my opinion) when it was hard to find a registered Catahoula that was a capable hunter. Sure there were some out there but I didn't see to many. Not really sure how many are out there now but I know for fact there are some pups listed on the dog trade that have a dang good shot at making dogs.

Whistlers Buzz dog, I think, a lot of people would LOVE to have on their yard if they ever hunted with him. Drew ain't one to Embellish about his dogs....hell...he don't talk much at all until you get to know him, lol. Everything he tells you about those dogs is the truth.

I feel strongly enough about these pups making dogs that I bought one.

My first papered dog, lol. Little gyp..."Bo"

Guess that means I'd vouch for him.

On another note....Just wondering....who else hunts registered Catahoulas?

nice pup Kevin...I feel the same as you about the average papered dog...but some folks will pay the money for those papers...

The cats I used to have were never registered & the registered ones I tried, never made the cut. For sure, papers never bayed any hogs.
My plotts have always been UKC registered & I feel like I have spent a small fortune on them keeping them registered. If I was smart, I would own stock in UKC.
I know the first registry for Cats was NALC. Any other registries that register them?

x2 on the papers...back when I first started with the mt curs I registered them and I could see it was big business...so I just quit getting the litters or dogs registered...but a well bred pup with papers sells faster and for more money than one that is not...
