Well the land owner called me at 230 said he saw a huge pig and a smaller one with it at a pond in the back of the place. So I called my buddy Colten to see if he wanted to make a run when I got off work. We meet up around 730 and headed that Way he had Petey, jethro and Annie I bought my 2 pups horn and slim and my bulldog rocko. I been seeing the pigs on the south end of the place so I scope the coastal field out but there was nothing so we head straight for the pond where Gary seen them at 230. We drop Petey N horn down they went straight to hunting they were both working the same track and about 3 mins later they both start hammering down. We send jet and Annie to help and bayed solid at 185 yards walked in and cut rocko to seal the deal off.. We didn't see the pig but knew it was a good one when it started grunting instead of squealing, we got in there and Colten says hurry and kill the pig it's a big one.. Then he and I before we did anything that it was a sow.. One of the biggest sows I ever caught. Colten Annie dog rolled out and chased another pig but quit it shortly.. So we water the dogs out and headed back to the truck. I told Colten I knew where that pig went but I doubt it will be anywhere close to here. So we decided to go check another pond on the neighbors place that gave me permission to hunt yesterday we drop horn slim and Petey down again and I made the biggest mistake ever and left the bulldog at the truck because we didn't think we would strike the pigs. Come to find out that pig ran to the pond water out and bedded down about 300 yards from the pond, my horn dog opens up with Petey and slim close by him there bayed solid again and I tell Colten we are 800 yards from the bulldog so we ran all the way across the field and ran all the back to the bay and they bay dogs already caught out time we got there.....it was a nice 130 lb sow. Colten said " these is the farest I ever ran AWAY from a bay to get a bulldog" but it was a good quick hunt and back at the house at 9 and in bed for work at 10. Colten with Petey and Annie 260 lb sow Me with horn. 130 lb sow
