I will get some new pics up soon.  This past week has been spent welding out all the steel that we tacked in place. Tomorrow the perlins will be installed, and by the end of this weekend the barn should have all the r panel and trim installed.

Julie,
It sure is nice having a decent camera around, but I find myself wanting a little more out of Mandi's camera. I found a lens that we want, but then saw that it cost more than my first new vehicle Shocked  Do you ever run a multiplier to get more zoom, or does the quality suffer?  I was talking to a guy about getting pictures further out, and he said he uses a 1.6 magnification. Sounds like a better deal than buying a new lens, but only if it works...

lightningh,
They want to get Kevin Fowler...I told them if they can't get him scheduled, they really ought to go see this guy. http://www.lonestarmusic.com/artists.asp?id=1510
He puts on a great show, and is very entertaining. One of my favorite "concerts" ever, just behind seeing Chris Ledoux in a very small venue.

Sounds cool. there is a lot of great music that will never make the radio.... I cant hardly stand to listen to the radio at all anymore... Its just a joke! Kevin fowler has some good ones, and i bet he woudl put on a pretty good show! I really like Jason Boland, Randy rogers band, Stoney Larue, reckless kelly and a few more... Oh and my latest is Drive by truckers... If you havnt heard some of them look em up on youtube! that is some real music!  Wink

Update:     The R-Panel is installed, the ridge cap needs to be replaced, as the metal company bent it to the wrong pitch, but other than that, everything went on great.   Still need to install some windows and the roll up doors.

Straight up poor white trash, but they are nice people, so we don't hold it against them.

Concrete work has started. Between each section of concrete will be a ~18" section of flagstone.

The area to the right in this picture will be an outdoor kitchen, with a limestone fireplace/ grill

Center of this section will have a 6' diameter flagstone star

Notice the slope in each section, so that the stall/kennel area can be washed out.

Far left corner in this photo will be a full bar, and restroom/shower area.

Took some more pics this morning.

Front patio of barn, facing west.

Star in center of barn aisle/ patio

Closeup of star framing.

Circles in patio, these will be filled with flagstone.

Flagstone to be used in star, circles, and bordering each section of concrete.

Matt, this is the star I told you about at the Brownwood ranch.

Man that thing just keeps looking better and better!  I can't wait to see how the flag stone looks when they get going on that.

Installed 10,000 pounds of flagstone and poured the driveway last week. They had to pick up another 5k in stone so the flagstone work will be finished this week.  Still have to put the grout between the stones, it will be a dark brown grout.

Another 14 tons of stone was dropped of this past week. Work has begun on the stone columns, and stone fireplace.  The steel is also on site to begin construction of the stall framing.

Yesterdays progress....

The open area in the center of this picture is made to house an 8 burner grill/ fajita cooker.

Here's the 8 burner grill.

Actually, their son is on a cook off team, and he asked his dad to help him build them a fajita cooker for a cook-off last month. When they ran across this 8 burner setup at Sam's Club, it looked like he could buy it for what it would cost him in time and materials to build it himself.

It is insulated at the roof. I am not sure if they intend to insulate the walls on the first floor of the barn. The second floor, dancehall, will be insulated, then lined with cedar.
