i own a ruger black hawk in 41 mag and a super black hawk 44 mag. i prefer the lighter frame of the 41 but i am wondering if it has the stopping power of the 44 in a close quaters situation wen it counts

I think for hogs you will find both pretty equal. The .41 is a lot harder to find ammo for, but I dont think the .44 will give you that much more performance if everything else is equal. The 44 does offer a wider range of factory loads to choose from so this may be where the advantage lies.

When we are out doggin' we take a 30/30 or .22mag rifle just in case. Them hogs can cover some ground pretty fast.

Everybody is speaking the truth but I prefer a 45 long colt, just go shoot one and you will see what I mean, a vary accurate pistol round with little recoil and most dont cost much.

I have a Winchester model 94 trapper 44 mag lever action with a 16 inch barrel. This gun holds ten rounds and is what I consider the ultimate bay gun.
