Well after meeting many people on here that produce some dogs most people dream about they seem to do it like Halfbreed says. Now they ain't on here selling dogs ever. They breed two dogs and see how the pups turn out. They do not hunt the dogs that produce the hunting dogs. Because then you could lose your line of dogs. Then they work on another set of dogs that throw good pups and so on. Now do they ever get bad pup? What do they do with them if they get them? Well go ask for yourself. Now is that the best way? I sure don't have the answers. I am fighting to save a dog right now that if I lose will hurt me bad. So maybe they have it right.

Mr Whitten sorry I never left you any feed back on old Jack! Shotgun 66 said it all! Jack might have made a dog if put in the hands of a more seasoned handler! Poor old boy wasnt He was placed with an owner that can see faults in his own pack and try to get use outta ever animal in the yard. Some on here can't! Jack has become a vital part of our pack and finding hogs is not what he does. Mr. Whitten I'll put it this way if I never hunted Hogs again Ole Jack and my bulldogs are the only ones that would be in my yard. Mr. Whitten that is the Jack that is being discussed Y I have no Idea but good young Pic of MY DOG! By the way that sorry Help dog Jack usually rides in my back seat on the way to hunts!!!

lol thanks cujo and shotgun , I most likely didn't do jack justice using him on cattle and keeping him healed in close so many months , his sister jill is a fair dog out striking hogs I gave her to my buddy mark , and I will still take ol jack back if the need arises . the rest of that litter that I know about met with untimely deaths but were all fair dogs . see ya !

Well for me breed worth is something that doesn't happen over night in one good hunt. I myself have to see them produce hogs by there self .I like to only take three dogs an put one bay dog On the ground at a time .This let's me know who is getting it done .There is no other dog besides them. I am not trying to have twenty dogs on my yard. when the dog has proven its self to me it will take time to find something that is better or has to have some trait that would help in a breeding. I thank of it like this if your dog is bad ass an you won't to breed it an the dog that you breed to is better .Why would u not keep them all that's what I hope I'm doing.

When a dog shows pork for years an stays alive doing it! LIKE, If u hunt 100 times out the year an that 1 dog shows u 100 hogs within the year then he is doing his job ! Now just because a dog struck 20 or 30 hog that year is not a reason to breed! This is just something i like to look at before breeding !

I say bred what you like you the one that has to feed them. All good hog dogs will not be producers and all producers will not be good hog dogs but it is nice when they are both. And if you catch 100 hogs in 100 hunts you are not hunting in the piney woods of south Louisiana!!!

I think y'all are reading ole muddogkennels post wrong... The guy never said he caught a hog every time out (100%), he said if he hunted 100 times throughout a year the dog could strike 100 hogs. My guess is several fellas from this site could claim that (not me tho). The dog might strike 5 hogs in one hunt, and strike out the next 2 hunts...

If we hunted 100 times we would catch more then a 100 hogs I guess for Yall that hunt and only catch one hog a hunt that is hard for y'all to understand but there a people on this site that catch 10 to 20 hogs on some hunts prolly even more then that on a contest weekend we catch around 50 and to be honest prolly 75 percent of the people on this site don't even hunt 100 times a yr
