I can see catching 3-5 hogs a hunt in good country......we've done it a few times.

But to log 100 hogs in 2 months......you'd still need to hunt 3 times a week and average a little better than 4 hogs a hunt with NO dry runs. Thats assuming you have Plenty of dogs for back up to replace the ones that get cut and are out for a week or more.

That's a pretty tall order.

I guess if you can hunt 4-5 times a week it would make the numbers more manageable.

When I first signed up to ETHD we caught over a 100 by the end of February in under 15 hunts....

This year we haven't hunted since May and we almost broke 300 in hunting maybe 2-3 times a week

Just saying it can be done

I agree with you CANTEXDUCK... I'm going to get you a black dog this next litter brother so you can finally have something breed worthy Smiley

I'm with Mikes statement. If you want to breed and cull for yourself, great! To sell unproven crosses like most ppl do is what irritates me.

TRUST me, you will know when your dogs are breed worthy; people will knock on your door and ask to breed their best dog to anyone one of your males or females when you got the right stuff. Until then keep at it

Glad I have some fans.  I sometimes post when I shouldn't but more times then not it is what most people are thinking. Well it appears that way based on. The pm s I get.
I just figured having proven dogs would help cut down on the experiments. Hell from what I have seen and heard some of the best dogs in the woods have a hard time reproducing decent dogs.

I'm your num 1 fan Smiley I forgot how much fun internet hog hunting was lol rev Freak is taking up too much of my time!!

Judge and everyone else who skipped out on statistics class,

First of all the genius who made the poker analogy needs to reconsider his stance. In the game of poker you can only win one time per game. So the odds of winning 100 poker hands out of 100 games is very slim.
Now in the hog hunting game you can kill multiple hogs per hunt. So you need to take your poker analogy and apologize for wasting everyone's time.
Now if you would like to use a game analogy use a dice. Now I know what's going to be said "there is no zero on a dice". So for our purposes 6 on the dice will be our zero.
So I want you to role the dice 100 times. The probability of going over 100 is very high.

Example:

1st roll- 2
2nd roll- 4
3rd roll- 0
4th roll- 2
5th roll- 1
6th roll- 5
7th roll- 0
8th roll- 0
9th roll- 1
10th roll- 3

So these 10 rolls represent 10 hunts. So according to what's been said by people on this thread is that it is impossible to kill 100 hogs in 100 hunts. So I can't kill ten hogs in ten hunts according to theory of the mathematical geniuses on this thread.

So l rolled the dice ten times and and got 18 as a total. I even had three dry runs and still beat the target goal.

Hog hunting is all a game of chance. Will the hogs be there, will I catch one, will I catch eight or will I catch zero.
It's just like rolling a dice.

Now if you don't have hogs where you hunt that your own fault. I suggest you go where the hogs are..
Everything I wrote is based on having hogs on your places.

Red79 has some good dogs and great places to hunt. Every time we hunt with him we get 3-6 hogs inside a couple hours.
They're not hog farms and high fences. Just free range places.

Have a great day!

So If I hunt 2/3 times a week for two months, it is possible to catch 200 hogs!

Biggest crock of BS I've ever heard...there ain't no substitute for HOG DOGS!

There's no chance, no excuses, and no BS for guys who consistently do it. It's hog hunting it aint much calculus, statistics, or trigonometry, it's just hog hunting.

Muddog,

Did you read what I wrote? Did you comprehend anything out of what I wrote?
This was in response to 100 hogs in 100 hunts.
Not about your little pay checks and the kibbles and bits you feed.
Go back and read previous parts of the thread so you understand what I am saying.

Aw, come on ben. Math is always involved. 1 bay dog and 1 catch dog equals 2 dogs.   Grin it mite even mean 1 hog, unless its a hog farm n them it would mean u got real dogs bc u caught 20 hogs at once, then u only gotta hunt 5x for the magical number of 100 hogs. Just a roll of the dice  Grin

using your dice rolling and the figures you provided, muddog is referring that 1/3 of your 10 rolls were a waist of fuel and time, if you take the other times of catching just 1 hog, now your success is only 50% of the time it was a hunt worth staying at hm, or going hunting. your analogy aint no better than the analogy you are saying sucked.

And since NASA works for you know where to find me and my space ship. That statement would sugest that he will alway strike no matter what
