I cut them but don't know his to keep them from rolling. I have seen PVC legs but I want more options

Couple treated 2x4's and he barrels are up off the ground and won't roll.

Some standard barrels...no tops.

I do have some with tops that I cut a door in...like those better. Hold the straw better.

Always been a barrel guy but Built these for gyps to have puppies in....really like them. May build some more for the other dogs.

 Put mine on a pallet fliped upside down fits down in the groove pretty well

  these are how mine are set up . the ones without the overhang aren't finished . wood screws and washers attach the barells to the wood . holes about 3/8'' are drilled in the bottom [ about 4 ] for water drainage .











if you just have them out on chains a couple of wooden stakes drove into the ground and screw the frame to them will keep them in place because they are light and the dogs will move them around  .

  and the overhangs or porches are attached with carriage bolts [ 1/2'' ] and I use four of them for each barrel

Iv yet to have them do it, but if the end up doing it, im gonna form some sheetmetal around the edges n shoot some rivets to hold it in place

  as for me my bulldog is the only dog that will chew on the overhand , that is when he runs out of cow bone to  chew on  lol  .
