Nothing wrong with those steers. They are the typical type most rope and practice on down here in my area. The Headers just need to rope and do their job. Take an extra swing or two and place. Above all have fun. I think they are all trying to get the arena record LOL instead of catching and letting their heelers do their part.

Can someone point me in the right direction for finding tickets for next year? I have been searching the last 3 or 4 days, but have not found anyone that is selling them yet. I just assume after Way Out West reply to this thread they are. Thanks in advance to anyone who can help

We went on line last year after the NFR and saw packages from diff casino's. I sure don't remember any  particular site but I may have just googled NFR tickets.

Ok, that's what I did too. I just misunderstood your post, I thought you were saying they already had them on sale. Thank you for the information

Justin, Randall Carlisle in the calf roping is originally from kinda around you also. When we built the vet clinic in Buna back in the late 80's, his dad was coaching basketball somewhere down your way, I believe it was Kountze. He was also a calf roper, and brought his horses up there to get worked on. We had a horse from Mr. Randy when I was trying to be a calf roper( massive failure). He was still roping calves when I started going to amateur rodeos my senior year.   They moved to LA sometime after I left Buna in '92. My family sold the clinic there in around '93 or '94, so I don know exactly when the Carlisle's left.

I'll be, can't say that I knew that, thanks for sharing.......and i gotta laugh about the calf roping comment, sorry haha but im with you on that, i've been a cowboy.....in my dreams and im not even any good in em lol. In all seriousness though i enjoy being around and working with/ huntin off horses but thats about as cowboy as i get however i enjoy watching the real cowboys work. it is a culture/lifestyle that i think is slowly fading away and i would love to see it make a turnaround and re-emerge. I know around here that 10-15yrs ago there were far more rodeo events going on then there are now days, kinda sad.
