There is a chance that we are gonna relocate in texas.
Just wondering what is the best country out there to start a cow/calf operation.
East- west -north-south Texas???
Land price vs cattle market today.
Any help would be hightly appreciated. Land

Depends on what your use to, east texas stays green most of the year and is either black dirt ,red sand lands about 35-5500 an acre the more west you go the the sandy and rocky it get and drier and lands cheaper

Grass is also alot better when you go west. Take 10 cows from say abeline, and turn them out in Huntsville they won't do very well. Take 10 head from Huntsville and turn them out in Abeline then they'll do really well. You wouldn't think so by lookin at the country but cattle tend to do better in central, west tx.

I dont know the "best" area per say but I will tell you that I can't go a mile in any direction from my house without seein cattle. Im in china, just west of beaumont, south east Tx. There are quite a few big cattle operations around the area.

There's big cattle operations everywhere. North, south, east and west. Everything is always greener east rather than west. But not necessarily better conditions. Like hunting, theres different approaches. Come check it all out! Go to the local feed stores, cafes and talk to the old men. They'll help you more than anything.

Fairly reasonable priced land and pretty good cow country in West Central TX, but my idea of good cow country and yours may differ greatly
