I got this nice buck the other day. I spooked him out going into my treestand on Friday, but did not believe he saw me or smelled me because I came in from down wind and he was already running away before I came into sight of him! I went back Saturday morning to pull my card out of my game camera and had some pics of him at 12:03 am, so I know he was not buggered out of the area. Since he was already close to my stand at 3pm I decided to come back to my stand at 1:30pm. I got to my stand at 1:30 and touched up the scrapes close to my stand with some Code Blue Doe in Estreous Scent and got into my stand. Did a little intro vid for the hunt and got my GoPro off my hand held boom and on to my stabalizer on my bow and sat down for the hunt. In about 20min I had a button buck come in and feed around my stand for about 19min when he pops up his head and looks back behind my stand into the woods. I turn around and see a nice buck coming towards me from th swamp!! I get up and grab my bow from the hanger, turn on my GoPro and start filming him as he walks towards one of the scrapes I just doctored up with the Code Blue!! When he goes behind a tree I draw my bow and when he steps out into the lane I cut out that showed me the scrape I shot him perfectly behind the right shoulder and the arrow completely passes through, out the front of the left shoulder and neck are and sticks in the ground next to the scrape!!!! I am pumped up and shoot alittle more video after the shot and sit for about 15min enjoying the adrenelin rush and excitement you get after shooting a nice buck with your bow!! I get down from the stand and film the recovery of the deer!! He went about 60yds back into a thick swamp and I find him Piled up in the water!! He is a good buck for the area I hunt and will make the book registry here in Florida!! IThere is alittle adult content in the vid after I shot the buck!! Sorry I was alittle excited!! LOL.... For some reason I thought you were closer to the jax area. Your marsh areas look a lot more open then over here on the east central area! Everywhere is overgrown with pepper trees. You north or south of Tampa? |
