Here are a couple of pics (and a video clip if I can figure out how to get it to load) of my Bob x Red pups and their first real exposure to a hog. These pups are 4 months old and I have NOT messed with them at all.  I thought I would show them this shoat I trapped yesterday, just to see if they showed any interest at all.  I have a few hogs here at the house that were here when the pups were born and they have never even looked at those hogs. I was beginning to get worried as they never look at my "resident" hogs. So I thought I would show them a new hogs and see what they did.

All I can say is, they DO like the new hog. After the video clip one of the pups grabbed hair and about pulled the shoat through the wire. I had to let Pita (the Jack Russell) in on the action as this was her size hog.

Of course, its a loonnngggg way between this and finding hogs in the woods by themselves. Just have to see how they progress.

Glad the video worked, first try at doing a video clip. Now you guys better watch out as I have a new toy...LOL

They are just old Florida curs. I am sure there is some hound in there somewhere, along with about everything else. As long as they are silent on track, I will be okay with them.

Their mother is my Red female, who is a first cousin to my old Dixie female. Their sire is a red cur dog from south Fla that I don't know a whole lot about his breeding, but I like him in the woods! Both parents are on the rough side, so I doubt these will be loose baying dogs when they get grown.

Hey Noah, you recover from last week yet? Those 3 AM mornings don't get any easier as you get older I can tell you!!  You off THIS Friday??? Dave said he thinks there are some old blind crippled hogs at one of the other places that he thinks my fat out of shape potlickers may be able to bay.  Just in case you feel up to another EARLY morning!! Let me know.
