Well gents. Throwing a new Q out their for the general population.  Mainly curiosity ..

What makes a permanent room and board dog for you?

The dog that has been there done that....doesn't matter what goes on tomorrow ........has a hall pass to retirement?
For discussion sake....include a pic if you have one currently on your yard.

Let's here...Why?......

Enjoy!

Here is my personal pic.
Not my best.......but from day one.....100%....cut down to shameless nothing and still standing ....the definition of dependable.
Could quit tomorrow and has a pass to retirement ....Same as his old man.

YBM, this is my dog that regardless of circumstance is not leaving my yard.  He came to me from Coal, and best I understand it he has your blood  in him. His dad is  Coals Cutter dog and his mom is another bmc that coal picked up somewhere alon g the way. I'm fairly green when it comes to hog dogs, but have a thorough background with schutzhud german shepherds. With all of the gsd's l have owned, this dog beats them with smarts by far!  Around the house he is the most gentle dog anyone could care to own. But put him on a hog and he is straight catch. And I feel sorry for anyone that would try to get between this dog and my 3yr old son. This dog is my sons guardian and will put any other dog in its place that tries to get close to my boy.

Ole Buck is all in.  He's 10 now and down in one hip. Has found me tons of hogs and many more memories than I can tell.  He started out a headache, a dog I took and hoped he didn't make it through the hunt. He turned it on and I never went and didn't take him. He has my brand but I should have his. He WILL die on my place peacefully ... Thanks for yalls ear...

My old gyp. If she never found, bayed, hunted, or even looked at another hog in her life she's got a free pass to retire with me. If she wanted to be a lap dog the rest of her life I'd let her.

Tuff will not be going anywhere...I am very surprised and lucky that he has made it this long with him being straight catch.
He caught by himself on all three of these boars and many more
