Dropped dogs Monday night, and they hit the ground running. Bayed up to our east, and we caught a sow. They rolled out as soon as we stuck her, and caught a 3 legged sow, rolled out when we got to her and finally shut down the sounder .8 away from us. Well we went back to the truck and drove to 500 yards from em started walking in, and it broke. My Darla dog had a little boar caught, and Rooster and LC was just under a mile back to the north bayed again. I think the hogs finally swam the creek and luckily the dogs didn't follow, so we ended up hunting about 1 hour with three hogs down. Hunting 30,000 acres and I am still having to cut dogs off to stop them from getting off the place... Here is 2 of the three.

Tuesday we went and killed about a 120 lb boar right off the bat and for some reason couldn't line anything else out. The guy that has the cows on this place was burning salt grass and the smoke was on us like a fog I just can't figure how that wouldn't bother the dogs. Heck it was bothering me. I don't have a picture of this lil guy.
We gave the B team a break Wednesday, haven't been hunting the A team due to injuries STILL healing up!!!
Well last night we did it again. Dropped dogs about 5ish. They hit this sow right as there feet touched the ground. Ran her away from us a little bit and ended up stopping her 35 yards from the truck, that was nice!!! Well the black dog Rooster has been catching EVERYTHING and this big ol girl was no different. He caught her and the CD just helped this one. So off we go again, and I mean miles of hunting!!! We rode em probably 12 miles with nothing but a little excited smelling going on. Well we load em up and start to head out. Get about .6 from the gate and the black dog starts bawling in the box. We turn em all loose and away they go 400 yards we get a bark, 600 they catch it.

I tell ya'll what! This black dog struck his first hog last week!!! He is rolling out usually before we get there, and striking hogs like he has been doing it his whole life!!! Now last night he winds one from the box!!!! This dog may just make a hog dog some day!!!
