If the dogs are as he says then their worth a $1000. Think about how much you spend on dogs, feed and gas getting a decent dog. I've pretty much lost money on all the dogs I've sold or given away.

When someone asks a price for pups that some thinks is outrageous there are others that think the price is fair for what he is selling. I'll bet you that this guy gets a dozen inquiries by private message within 48 hrs. of his post. A lot of you guys with "jam" up dogs are always saying you don't sell pups. You only give them to close friends. Well then if this guy's dogs are as exceptional as he says and them TRUE, old line Florida Curs are nearly impossible to come by, then here is a chance to get one. If you feel the price is too high then pass. If he can get that for his pups, does that make him a dog trader, or a villain or less of a dog man than any one else on here? Folks pay thousands of dollars for 4 wheelers, utility vehicles, trailers, hundreds of dollars for dog boxes, cut gear, tracking equipment, hundreds to thousands per month on feed, Some spend 15 to 20,000 on a boat to hog hunt out of but are shocked when some one asks more than a couple hundred for a pup. Hell, folks on this very forum are importing dogs from other countries for thousands of dollars. I'd buy one of them Florida pups he has for sale if they are what he says before I'd import a dog from another country. And if some one buys one of these pups for the price he's asking does it make that person a fool, or stupid ? Just cause you won't pay that price doesn't mean no one will pay that price. There is really no need for comments like "Did this guy bump his head" or "Do them dogs poop golden turds". Hell, you interested in the pups then contact him . If not move on to another post. Yea, he blew a gasket kind of quick but like he said, he didn't come here for all the drama.

Your right, I apologize for the "golden turd" comment. I have been fortunate enough to never have to buy dogs, so was just shocked at the price. I can understand your example of hunters spending small fortune on equipment. Just ask my wife, I'm guilty of it also. With that, I feel that the dog is more valuable than the rest of that junk. So, yes they probably are worth that price to certain people. My bad for judging.

I'm surprised the tar baby dog is rough. All the others are almost all bay. The 2 Mark kept are rough on the rear end but will bay 50# pigs.

some guy awhile back posted on here 2 rough Florida curs baying a hog in the woods...he called them rough...both dogs were baying just right for bay dogs to keep the hog in one spot...The dogs were not bay busters so that rules out "ROUGH"...I didn't get to see them work long but it seems that they were ready to put some teeth on the hog if it broke...that style is probably is the best for a bay dog...
I do have a question... How rough is the average cow dog?
I don't know much about cow dogs but a good cow dog shouldn't bust up the cows but should put enough teeth on one that wants to break and turn her back...
I reckon if you have a few straggler wild cows deep in the palmettoes then it would take a few chew the ears up on a cow type of cow dogs to make her/them pay attention and get them going in the right direction...
I reckon the price is fair for the pups if both parties agree and are happy with it...

Training dogs is not about quantity, it's more about timing, the right situations, and proper guidance...After that it's up to the dog... A hunting dog is born not made...

In regards to price of pups, it just goes to the laws of economics. The pups are worth what somebody will pay for them, so if he sells both of them and gets 1000 for them then they were worth that if he does not then they weren't, something is only worth what somebody will pay for them. So either way I wish you the best with them as I am sure they will tun out to be good dogs like their parents!

Cajunl this is not a recent pic of her but this is Tarbaby. She was right around a year old in the picture. Ya I think she got more of J.J than she did of monkey. I am fine with that I like rough dogs and don't mind the staple bill. My neighbor is a vet so I get antibiotics on the house also. He keeps me in good shape. She is rough as a Cobb. If you don't get to the bay fast enough she and one other dog will have the hog killed big or little don't matter. If it's a runner expect to have its hole in the butt chewed out when u get to it. I have taken her and gathered cows and she does an average job but her heart is in the woods hunting hogs. She does not have an exceptional nose but makes up for it beating the bushes finding them. We are thick similar to the terrain in east texas. ![](http://i944.photobucket.com/albums/ad288/sarahwines13/image-4.jpg)

More recent pics of the ones I raised out of that litter ![](http://i944.photobucket.com/albums/ad288/sarahwines13/image-6.jpg) Pearl, 18 months old,by far the best pup I have ever raised! She has a phenomenal nose backed by a heart and guts ![](http://i944.photobucket.com/albums/ad288/sarahwines13/image-7.jpg) Wesson, didn't make the cut as a hog dog. Not enough hunt but plenty of grit so was sent to a friend as a yard dog. ![](http://i944.photobucket.com/albums/ad288/sarahwines13/image_zpsc79701e6.jpg) Tot, sold at six months old to a man down south florida for a cow dog

How many of these dogs do you normally have on the ground at one time? Do you catch most of your hogs or shoot over the dogs just wondering about your methods with this style of dogs? Real nice looking animals. I personally like the litter you put hound in, LOL.

We don't use guns or knifes.... We take them out alive just hobbled up. We have multiple game ranches that buy our hogs. They buy everything we catch. Most buy 700-900 hogs a year and we feed them everything we catch. I'm quota'd 150 a year on my state contract and then what ever else we catch on our other properties. I have four cur dogs on my yard right now and this litter. Reason for having it. I will cull through them and keep the best 3 or 4. I also have deer hounds. I keep about 5-10 hounds year around.

That says a lot about them if you are able to sale them to game ranches. They wouldn't take hogs that were earless or chewed to pieces I wouldn't think. Good luck with them. I have an old hunting buddy out there by the name of Edgar Glisson, he's 78 years old. He's been hunting a pretty good while out there.
