These three are REAL young but I'll be getting them on shoats in Feb/March. I'll probably take them to the woods at around 6-7 months (May/June) give them a few runs. Then I'll put them up till after deer season unless I can squeeze a daytime hunt in here and there.

I've about decided that I don't like putting young dogs/pups out at night when they are just getting started. I just don't think it does them much good.

Anyway...here they are

PIG

POCO

EMMA

This 8 month old I've started over the fall. She's doing pretty fair and I expect some good things from her over the spring.

I dont have any recent pictures of him but he is now a little over 5 months old and he is by far the fastest starting pup ive ever owned......Got high expectations for him, time will tell. A couple weeks back we showed him and a littermate of his that i gave my buddy, josh stokley, the first hog either of em had ever seen. She was an 80-90lb sow in a wooded pen and not very rough. Both of them crawled through the bull panel to get to her.....stokleys pup was a bit smarter about things and stayed a couple feet from her......my pup, not so much.... Stupid stupid rough, if she woulda been a salty hog it woulda probly been his first and last lol. Im puttin him up until he matures a bit before i put him on another hog.

And we've got a litter coming out of my smoke dog and a gyp David Gore owns, she is in all honesty one of the top 3 dogs ive ever hunted behind, just an all around get gone and get it done type dog, she moves through the woods like a dang bottle rocket lol.

Im like a kid waitin on christmas with this cross, we are splittin the litter down the middle, im hopin for 10-12 but id be ok with 6-8..... These pups wont be going anywhere!

I sure hope so Jeremy, i have hunted with 2 of her littermate sisters as well and they were all equally impressive, Mr. Witherspoon bred and raised em and kept one, a gyp he called nicki she was a cow and hog catchin fool, he unfortunently lost her a while back. A good friend of mine in sour lake by the name of David Coburn has the other sister, a gyp called nina. Nina is in my opinion the roughest of the three dogs, ive hunted with her more times than i can count over the past few years and caught my fair share of hogs behind her, when she was younger she had her hamstring cut in half and the vet couldn't reattach it properly so she is pretty much 3 legged now, she was great before her injury and is still a hog bayin bitch now but she doesnt have quite the stamina she did before. Some people dont care for these smaller framed curr dogs but they fit me like a glove.

Jeremy, you, gore and myself need to get together and make a run here before long. Hope you find your gyp in the mornin and congrats again on the promotion.
