I had a chance to make a run with my buddy Chris and he asked me to bring some older dogs because he wanted to run some pups. Started heading north on a creek and didn't take long before we found some sign and the dogs started pulling out. We went about a mile and came across a gap that needed mending. We stopped and luckily found a post and started making the gap. While Chris and Brian fixed the gap, I watched the dogs work on the garmin. They kept working one particular area pretty hard. Mo broke from the rest and started trailing west away from us. It wasn't long and he started baying. Just as Mima, Squaw, and Earl got there the hog broke. They took the hog out of hearing to the North. Chris and Brian started working faster on fixing a new gap. After a while, the hog turned and started heading toward us with the dogs in tow. It took the dogs a bit but they finally stopped him at 750 and settled in baying. Once the gap was finished, we decided to go around the creek a good ways so we could cross it and drive closer to the bay. When we finally crossed the creek we stopped and could hear the dogs still bayed. We loaded the two young dogs and drove closer and let them join the fun. We walked up and watched the dogs bay for a minute then sent Kid in and done deal. It was a really solid spotted boar with nice teeth.

Nickel is Pickle and Mack was out of Zena (Captain X Lucy) crossed with Rock (Dogo out of Dennis Chavez Petey and Dogo gyp Sugar)

Pickle (AKA Nickel) is out of Fat Jessie AB crossed with Jonah (Captain X Lucy). So this litter with Kid, PJ, and Kimber are back to 1/2 AB 1/2 Dogo. Bryant, this litter seems to be "hotter" than any of the other litters of these white dogs in the past.
We just bred PJ (Kid's littermate) back to Cotton. I can't wait for that cross to hit the ground. The pups out of this breeding will have all of the pieces of the original puzzle and be what we started breeding for all those years ago.

Cotton's out of the first cross, correct? Littermate to Zeus? How is he? Still able to move about pretty good...slowed down any?
I still hunt Zeus from time to time. Age hasn't been to hard on him, but he's a little slower to recover and be ready to go again after a hard day.
Ok...so Pickle and Nickel are the same dog. I took Zeus up and James bred them a few years back. Didn't you and Krystal get a pup or two off that litter?

You are correct Bryant Cotton is Zues' littermate. He is holding up good and still is able to get the job done. He also takes longer to recover after a hunt so I take him on the easy hunts from time to time to let him get out. I just don't use him as much any more. I have Kid and Comet that go on the majority of the hunts but he will still catch if I need him to. We have one female out of Pickle and Zeus named Karma she is a house dog and yard dog. She will catch but has also done blood tracking and is one of Krystal's companions.
