Our ol' friend Noah had shared this pic on Facebook. The dog on the right is pert near perfect (looks wise) to me. I bet if painted yeller, black, brindle, etc one would call it a cur dog. Slick coat, no flag tail, right proportion build with strong leg and lung. Nice triangle fold over ears...and a head that I believe shows the running hounds influence in curs...I could go on and on Figured y'all would enjoy the picture and im sure several have seen it before Sent from my SPH-L710 using Tapatalk

Any of you hound guys see or know of any lines with dogs with this look/build?
And I could be wrong, but I thought the old trigg and july lines were known to give a lil less mouth and have more grit?

I've got an old fashioned, chop mouth, run to catch, JULY, bear & bobcat dog that was crippled late last year by a bear. She's got what I'd call an economical trail mouth . . sort of a cut and slash hunting style when free cast. She's a hound for a cur dog man.

Thank you sir. Most of the "Trigg" blood I've seen floating around the net, still have the running gear and lung, but little ol be able heads on 'em. Plus the longer coat and flag tails. I know those traits dont produce game, just a preference Sent from my SPH-L710 using Tapatalk

Both dogs appear to show the characteristics of the Triggs of "today"(no offense meant, so please dont take it that way), but these dogs just dont have the "look" of the dog in the old picture.
I've often wondered, if some of the grit and bite power has been knocked out of these old lines and more mouth added for things like fox trials and running in pens??? More of a question, cuz im not really up to snuff on thos types of things

not sure who you're addressing or what dogs. I don't own a trigg and didn't suggest mine looked like one. I have a july. she is very much as the original july dog was and has not, as I see, it lost any grit or bite power. she is tight mouthed and neither she nor any of her recent ancestors has ever seen a pen. I have no idea what point you're making. or attempting to make.
