An electric buffer and mothers aluminum polish. And don't wear good clothes because you'll be slinging black compound everywhere.

Any sprays or acids that require no buffing?

Muriatic acid will give it a dull whitish oxidized appearance. At least if did to a set of alum wheels I used it on, fortunately that was the look I was going for.  YBM, I'm guessin your cleanin up a dog box.  I've never done aything that big, but have polished a lot of smaller pieces with a buffer and mothers polish with great success. Don't use one of those little pussy polishers like from walmart that use terry cloth pads. Get a real buffer, one that looks like a big grinder and go at it.  Smear the polish around then let the machine do the work. The buffer will sling most of the compound off. Then just take some clean terry cloth towels and wipe off any excess. Pretty easy really.

that's why you was it off asap. if there is any gunky build up or severe grit n grime, it will get rid of it. we use muratic acid on acft parts to clean them and to remove the protective coating off, wash it off before it oxidizes it, then treat it with alodine, prime and paint once the part has been manufactured.
myles, u can get them buffing wheels/balls at any auto parts house or walmart, sears n so forth.

Not sure if they make any specifically fit a grinder, but they may. I work at a auto body shop and the buffers we use look like big grinders, but are variable speed and made just for buffing. They have a velcro pad on the end of the arbor to interchange between various foam or wool pads used for buffing.  I just through grinder out there for a reference.   You might try any place that sells automotive paints and supplies to see if they have a foam pad that might adapt to a grinder.  I reallly don't know if the arbor sizes are the same or not.

High speed buffer and some jewelers rouge. Pick it up at the truck stop. If it's real bad u can take it down in steps and make her shine like new money. Just use all 3 blocks and pads
