Took Hornet to the vet this morn to get a weight....He just turned 7 months old and weighed 82 pounds! Ya'll that have raised large breed dogs......what do you think this guy will weigh at full grown?.....I was thinking about 100 pounds when he was a pup, but at this weight/age I think he may go larger.....

I'd guess about the same for yours based my dogs weights..... but a guess is just that..... Hornet's lineage is anywhere from 85-115 pounds working/hunting weight with his great grandfather on RIP's side being 145 pounds hunting weight. Getting over 100 pounds hunting weight may limit his brush ability/speed and will make it a huge pain in my arse if I gotta carry his butt out of somewhere!

About 110-120#s most large breed folks say 10#s per month in relation to mature weight.

Man, what a good looking dog. I think Mike hit it right on the head. My Bully/Dane is averaging 5lb/month. And yours will grow at least till 15 months. What is the breed makeup of that beauty? John

John,
The female he came from is Ugly Dog's (Krystal Rohan) "LUCY-LOU" who is a pure dogo who has proven herself as a great CD and one to thro awesome CD pups.
His father is "RIP" owned by the Bloom Brothers from Australia and is a mix of pit, stag, irish wolfhound, mastiff, and a little dane. RIP is a RCD with a semi-load of big boars under his belt.

All you can do is yell at the bulldog and try and drag the pig out wiht the dog attached just to flip it. 120 lbs of extra dead weight would make me cry. even worse when the dog thinks its the pig pulling away and he digs in and starts pulling you into the brush.

SouthTexasff,
RIP was sent over here to hunt and we ended up keeping him almost a year before he was sent to Africa to hunt wharthogs.

Its hard to say how big he will get. For example L3's dog Capstick was the same height, and size at 6 months old as he was full grown. At 6 months old Capstick was 90lbs, but only 105 at two years old. My Bullydane is 25'' tall and only 65lbs at six months old. I would bet he will not reach full grown till two years old. He could just be a fast growing dog and not get much bigger, or he could grow till he is two and be almost as big as a pure Dane. I wouldn't worry about the brush much. If he is raised and hunted in it his hole life he will find his own way to move fast through it. Getting him out may be another story.

Buddylee, Clifford is 1/2 cat and 1/2 ab... here's a pic of him that the ETHD logo is derived from.
