I've seen some boars with damaged whetters and the cutters were long but not sharp. Have any of y'all tried knocking out the whetters on a boar when you Barr it to give him some sure enough long cutters but not making him a dog killing machine? Theoretically this should work great since the whetters (sharpeners) are what they use to fine point an sharpen the cutters. Any pics from the past that anyone might have?

This is what one side looked like on this boar with the damaged whetter. The other side was normal with a 2.5" cutter that was like a knife(like most)

Yup girl name Hilary Lindsey posted it. Seeing this pic and boars in the pat with damaged whetters gave me the idea.

Personally, I think it is a good idea to knock them out.

I have a good bit of older men tell me that gallitin has some big boys in that thick brush by the river. I'd rather my dog get beat up with a long dull cutter, then one of those 2" razor blade that cut a dog down quick.

Cut the fence!? Was their legs broke!? I've had to go get dogs before but we made darn sure that the place was the way we found it. Drug the hog back and everything, never wa there a need to cut a fence, that's the reason we he a bad name smh. And mtarrant your right about all the Doggers around there. One of the main reasons for so many runners (track star pigs) in that area. They get any hound they see and just dump it out and chases hogs for hours. But we still catch em so they ain't hurting us none. I think it will calm down one day and be back to how it was, just a handful in each town doing it. Lea pressure on the hogs and get to enjoy some big sounders getting worked
