Lay em up for a week and then hunt the crap out of em.. the more you hunt the tougher their feet are.

Yep let em lay up till they are walking and you can't see them favoring their feet then take em out and run the pads off of em again. Eventually they will toughen up and you won't have the problem

Back in our field trial days, we would rub cooking oil on our dogs pads before we ran them, (short runs or quick hunts) and that seemed to toughen up their feet the quickest. Some of our hounds would run a coyote all day long, and be ready to go in 2 days (next day they were a bit stiff).

if you haven't used tuff foot or mushers cream , you'll be amazed at the results . but a dog sitting in the kennel for days on ends feet will never toughen up .

Put some Turpentine on. Toughens them up. Will burn for a little bit but they'll be ready next morning.

Training dogs is not about quantity, it's more about timing, the right situations, and proper guidance...After that it's up to the dog... A hunting dog is born not made...

Kopertox. Some feed stores will carry it in equine section. If it gets real wet I use it a couple of days before a big hunt. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
