I am having a helluva time finding .22lr ammo. I want to stock up as much as I can. Does anyone here have any good suggestions as to where I may aquire some? I used to order off a website, but they've been sold out for quite some time. Forgettabout finding any local. Thanks in advance.

What sites have you checked? You may have come across this site but here's one.
http://ammoseek.com/ammo/22lr

It sure made me wonder why it's hard to find right now? I don't think there's been another school shooting (thankfully) that I didn't hear about. Hope you find some!

Best way to get the good ammo (older ammo) is to go to gun shows! But they are a lot higher now than they used to be.(about 65 - 80$ a brick) This new ammo that you can catch at walmart/academy or wherever is total crap! The last several boxes I have bought when I caught it at walmart will not cycle in an automatic - has less or weaker powder? And you have to be there right when they bring it in to even get any - they always sell out within an hour or so.

Triparish police supply in Houma has had some the last several times I have been there.  They have a 395 round bucket that is nitrogen purged that has a shelf life of 20+ years.

Man you could sale a picture of them things...Mrslouisianahogdog keep trying the academy in Slidell I bought some there last month they don't keep them in the ammo section they are at the customer service desk and they don't advertise them being up there. Bring someone with you because you can only buy two boxes per person per day

You can try natchez shooters supply, midway USA, and cheaper than dirt.
All good places with a big selection. You'll have to either keep checking back,
or beside most of ammo options they have an icon that will give you an email alert when
it comes in stock. Hope that helps.

Your best luck will be Gun Broker its like EBay for firearms. The last few retail stores I went to would only let me buy 1 or 2 boxes. I just looked on Gunbroker and there is plenty of 22lr and you can buy all you want.

Thank you everyone!!!!

Goose: I was just up there a couple weeks ago, and they were telling me at the counter how people wait in line for them to open on the days the ammo comes in and how it sells out within hours usually, :/

I didn't know about the trying the customer service desk!

I'm, going to go now to the Gun Broker site...
