I want to hear about the young dog that has flat out stole the show this year or showing some real potential. Let's do alil bragging on yours or a buddies dog that's between 6 months and 2 years old that really has stepped up their game, or seems to be on their way to being something special.
I enjoy catching hogs but I enjoy watching young dogs turn on and make hog dogs more then anything. Show us some pictures and share some stories!

Hawk- alittle over 1 1/2 He's still got some learning to do, but think he's gonna make a good one.. Has really started to show me what I like to see... Here lately has really started figure out the roll out and look for another part... Lady - Gyp in the middle - around 10 months... She was my buddies pick from my last litter and of course she's the one I wish I'd kept... She will flat get gone and stay gone... Miranda - gyp laying down - little over a year and was showing a lot of potential until she got cut down and messed up her back legs... Was showing awesome bottom for a young dog...

A littermate to the bitch Trent posted laying down, this is izzy. She is doing just fine and dandy. this morning, she found stuck with and bayed two hogs herself, and bayed a good sow with my old bitch. Plenty of bottom, fairly smart and the hunt is getting better and better as she begins to mature. This other ugly rascal is Jimbo, should be around 20 months old now. Don't know his past with any certainty, but his future is looking pretty secure.

Here is one dog that has really turned it on. We sent him with a friend of ours down to Mississippi on a 6 day hog hunt, and he was on hogs every day. When he got home, he really showed some of the older dogs up. First trip out, he went out, found his own hog, and killed it (little shoat). Next trip out, him and my main hound ran a hog 17 miles and held him bayed for over 20 minutes until we got the CD there. Just this past weekend, he went out on his own and had a 1 1/2 race, baying multiple times, and then the pig busted the creek too many times and he lost it. He turned 1 in March, and I'm definitely excited on what he will be like when he has a little more age on him. As of right now, he's one of the better dogs in our pack. For a Catahoula, he has an exceptionally good nose on him. I'll take some better pics of him sometime. He also ran and bayed the biggest boar we have caught to date, along with 2 other older dogs. I sent the catch dogs in, and when they caught, he thought he needed to help them out and ended up with half his head cut open. That put him out for a few weeks, but it sure lit a fire under his hind end on hogs now.

Here is the boar that they ran 17 miles (according to the Garmin). He is on the left hand side of the picture. I also have a hound that just has to hang on to a hog! Sure wish he wouldn't.

The young dog on the Far left is Pee Wee. Hes about 10 months old now and has been hookin up and goin with the old dogs about as good as you could ask for. Has the stay power on a bay that i want all my dogs to have. We hooked up on a no eared hog 2 weeks ago and he was step for step with the older dogs and the second dog to the bay right behind my old plott dog. they ended up having him bayed for about 45 minutes before we could get to them and he was still hard at it and also ended up being the only dog not cut down after gettin on one of those nightmare dog wreckers. This is shiner who is about a year old now and has the coldest nose of my pups just hasnt figured out what exactly the hell hes looking for but hes moving quick with his nose down. Been ranging out very long range and will be at every bay sometimes a little too close for my likeing. Favorite part about him so far is that hes quiet on track but has that sweet loud BAWL when he opens up looking at one. Now just need to keep feeding em tracks and keep them alive.

I like that, we have some that run like you say, it's a good feeling when a young dog goes on for one of those races, and sticks like that. Someone said on here a while back that the tracks on the Garmin looks like a crackhead with an etch and sketch. We got em.

Oldest yella dog I have is 2 so I really don't have veteran dogs of my own but make sure to bring pups if I have a buddy bring an older dog for them to run with. Tex just turned two an has been doing a lot better this past 6 months. Started ranging out and is always caught on no matter what size hog. Sugar is 6 months and has more hunt then any dog in the yard, prey drive is out of control ha. Gunna start the trash breaking when she turns a year, right now just make sure I turn her out when I think she will pick up on hogs and not see a rabbit, deer. She learns fast so shouldn't be hard to trash break if I even have to.

Zoey almost 2 now. I've had to start out with dogs since I've moved home to aus but was lucky enough to get this gyp as a big pup of my father. she is out striking mates older dogs constantly now. All work done finding off ute/4 wheeler. Usually lets out 2 or 3 barks when she finds a pig then catches, smart enough to let go an bark again if it takes me too long to get to her. T.willbanks u have some nice style dogs looks like they could cover alot of country

This girl here was quickly keeping up with my best dog at a year or so old now she's two and he's dead and gone and she's turned into my #1 find dog. Casts pretty good but she's really excels when she gets on a track. Really enjoyed watchin her the past few months learning how to grind out an area and getting gone when she lines it out. And plenty fast when she's running one with good bottom as well.
