Has it always been so many dogs for sale through the years? It's really none of my business I don't guess but just being on here and Facebook a lot while I'm at work I see people selling dogs a lot usually be about 6 pups like they kept one or two and don't want the rest " would of been a lot easier to go buy two pups than raise 8 and try to sell 6 for 100$" and it's a lot of " started dogs" that are going to make good jam up dogs. For about 150$-300$. I generally think a 3 year old started dog that's going to make a super hog dog by the ad is a cull and I personally would rather cull it than even have to deal with the general public for 200$ but do people really think it might make a great dog one day are they trying to get off on somebody? What's y'all thoughts on the dog boom?

Hasn't always been like this in hog dogs …. but when anything gets popular people always seem to have for sale and buyers wanting. Back in the coon dog days there were just as many like your talking about with hog dogs with coon dogs.

I been noticing this for quiet some time I think what it is is like y'all say it's popular right now. Someone sees some pics on Facebook of some hogs caught or whatnot or sees a truck coming through town that been hog hunting and it just looks cool to them because they really don't know a lot about it. Then they decide to get 1-5 young dogs because they are cheap and figure they are going to save some money by buying young started dogs but the dogs just ain't what they was hoping for 50$ a piece but they have bred two females to what's suppose to be the best dog they have bought so now they end up with 18 dogs and need to get rid of them and get their money back. I wonder if the popularity will ever go away and it be normal again?

the dog game hasn't changed much because we as humans haven't changed much...we just see more of it now because we have the internet...I try to breed my own set of dogs so I can pick what I want...and sometimes I am not satisfied with those results...

Training dogs is not about quantity, it's more about timing, the right situations, and proper guidance...After that it's up to the dog... A hunting dog is born not made...

lol yep back when hide prices would make you more money than your 9 to 5 job hounds and cur dogs were every where . you just see so much more of it now due to the inter web . back in the 70's and early 80's the want add sections in all the hound magazines was half the book nearly , and every first Monday at canton was wall to wall of the best coon dogs and old man had ever seen

Tom goes hunting with Dick, they catch a hog. Tom decides he wants a dog and asks Dick to find him one. Harry who is buds with Dick has some culls he needs to get rid of but instead of shooting em, sells em to Tom for a high price. A Year later Tom has 5 more dogs a box and a "Hog Hunters Stick It Deeper" Decal on the back windshield. As long as there are new people who are in a major damn hurry to buy dogs and jump into the sport, there will be a plethora of dogs available. Too much money out there for these peddlers for them not to be blowing up the classifieds.

It's just another fad. People will get tired of it and move on. All these new TV shows make it look so fun and easy!!! Lol When the fad dies out the only people standing will be the true dog Men.
