My friends dog was murdered by our local rains county deputy. Go support candys page. Read the storey and watch the video cole middleton shot while talking to the officers. This the kinda stuff our law enforecement officers are capable of. Cole and his family own and opperate a local dairy, and cole runs our local buying station for the hogs we catch. His house was robbed and he called 911, just to have the local county cop murder his dog. Here is the link to the page for poor candy. https://m.facebook.com/?_rdr#!https://m.facebook.com/profile.php? id=1414982708766848&refid=18

Sad to hear about the dog, but don't lump all cops in that bunch. I make my living as a I know some who will shoot a dog on sight and I argue with them myself lol.

That was absolutely heartbreaking hearing that grown man cry over the unjustified loss of his dog. Just terrible. Completely unwarranted in this case. And the necropsy even proves that! The dog was shot while turned AWAY from the deputy!
Now I can respect LEO's, and I respect the fact that if they are being legitimately charged by an AGGRESSIVE dog, they have to do what they have to do. But CLEARLY there are a good amount of officers that do NOT understand what the sign of an aggressive dog is. He can use deadly force and SHOOT the dog, but he couldn't have MACED him instead???
I'd d*mn sure be suing that department....
There needs to be more education to officers on canine behavior. Seriously. Clearly they will likely encounter canines on a daily basis, so this is something that would certainly be worth while.

there is no justification for them shooting someones dog unless its a raid or something like that. if the guys neighbor pulled up and shot his dog on his own property he would have went to jail for a felony. I cant think of anything else that makes me madder than the way cops are getting so out of control with unlimited power.

It's gettin out of control with this militatization of the police force. It's gonna lead to innocent people killed. U imagine, being a regular, law abiding, got to work and come home type, have someone bust your door in. Whether they are yelling "POLICE" or not, u know u havent committed any crimes and you are gonna treat it as a home invasion. And all the Police have to do is get the wrong info from some riffraff drug informant or got to the wrong address. We are living in the end times,, world's going topsy turvey

They need to start reminding them that their job is to ENFORCE the law, not be above it.

Thats all the police have to do to get a search warrant signed?? Seems like you need to do a little more research...

Sorry, but i've seen several instances where police have gone to the wrong address and busted in doors. Not sure if the judge research's the address before he signs on the line or if he just goes along, but i'm pretty sure I aint the only one who's seen stories of police going to the wrong address. And it may be someone reads the address incorrectly after the judge signs on the line,, i aint sure, but it happens, just like police shoot people's dogs.

Wow, just wow. That broke my heart. That poor man had to drown his dog because she was suffering. I would have lost my damn mind. I 100% back up police officers & will not bad mouth one. Matter of fact I want to be one, but lately I have seen a lot of non agressive dogs getting shot.

Iv seen incidents were the police accidently raided the wrong house. It was suppose to the the house across the street. They didnt get their actual criminal AND said, sorry, out mistake, but we r still not replacing the door n other stuff they destroyed. Home owners coverage didnt cover it either so they had to fix the screw ups of the police out of their own pocket.
Not all cops or units are bad, but when u got a couple rotten bacon slabs in the fridge, it puts a horrible view on the rest.
Po pos r to enforce n uphold the law, not place theirselves above it or brake it to uphold it. That tin star aint a do what i want n get away with it badge. It could end being somethng much worse

Amen Charles, i've had to scrub emergancy surgeries on fallen LEO's and it'll break your heart knowing some POS wounded (and in a few cases i worked on) killed a LEO. highest respect for that fraternity. But there sure are allotta reports of LEO's just shooting people's pets when there certainly were alternatives.

My question is dogs have been a part of life here forever. Why is it in the last 10 years cops decided they needed to shot them all the time. I think there are far to many cops with the lil man complex trying to show how bad they are. I believe the way the departments just shrug it off has emboldens them to do it more often. The police word is the law and u are beneath them. Sad part is it's gonna get worse before it gets better.
