^^ that seems like a pretty open and shut case. He was Grazing cattle on land that didn't belong to him and didn't want to pay any fees. Doesn't matter who owned the land, be it private, state, or federally owned. It wasn't his, he got caught and then turned it into a big media deal and played the victim. The government didn't take his cattle from his land or take land from his ranch. The property was Federally owned, he knew that and felt it did not matter to him. Plenty of Ranchers graze stock on government land and pay fees every year to do so. He felt the laws did not apply to him and he was wrong.

lol  I am going to give it to you as straight forward as I can , NOBODY OWNS LAND IN AMERICA EXCEPT THE GOVERNMENT .  after you pay the asking price for where ever you settle and pay it off all you are doing is leasing the land from a government entity . if you think I'm wrong , quit paying your taxes !!!!!!!!!!!!!!    that is all taxes are is lease fees  .
you are right

I've tried to get to the bottom of this situation by listening and reading up on both sides. I'm not sure it can be done as far as legality goes. I think the more important aspect of this case is, that it goes to show that people are sick and tired of the federal government pushing people around. folks just decided to give them a black eye because they had it coming.as far as I'm concerned thats reason enough and trumps all law and court rulings because the law and rulings can be manipulated by shyster lawyers and money but right and wrong stay the same. i think what patriots did was great we should do it more often. It's the governments own fault they are viewed the way they are.Their own corruption has caused this rift between them and us.they are corrupt and need to learn to fear punishment from the people. this needs to happen every time they start acting like a police state. the don't tread on me flag and slogan was born of the government doing just what they are currently doing. I don't know about you all but I feel walked on. This federal government is a behemoth monster that need stood up to. i don't believe armed conflict is the answer but there is no reason we cant have independent militias either. the sheriffs and local law dogs wont stand up and fight them they will let them violate any citizens rights in their jurisdiction without question. sheriffs are elected and are suppose to answer to no government power only the people of there jurisdiction. they swear an oath to the people to protect their constitutional rights elected sheriffs cannot be removed from office by governors or even presidents. They are empowered to raise militia but they never possy up and form a skirmish line on anyones lawn when these federal bullys come without any constitutional authority. sheriffs local police are all really acting as federal agents.they know what the government is doing is wrong but they have no honor or courage and thats the real problem if they did their dutys then there wouldnt be a bunch of "nutjob" militia up on bundys ranch. the first time they stepped foot on his property,(or if his case is not legit many others are) the federal agents would have been surrounded and arrested by their local elected defender of their rights( their county sheriff). END OF PROBLEM!the problem is no one in officialdom wants to sacrifice their life for their oath of office. they think their primary job is chasing drug dealers. they never even realize why they take a oath to defend the constitution. they think them and the fed police are on the same side. they are correct they are both on the side of gutless wonders with no integrity or honor. I dont think any freedom loving american likes the way the milita put the woman and kids out in front for propaganda reasons or particularly likes bundy. he seems like a guy just trying to play by his own rules and throw his big rancher weight around to me, however there is an old saying,"the enemy of my enemy is my friend" i hope more like him decide to stand up in front of this raging runaway bull and stick an estocada right in his hide before they get ran over. wont take to many to bleed the old bull out. if we don't the bull will draw a lot more blood from us in the long run and a confrontation is coming for sure. be it a revolution or a few cliven bundys the feds will win or the states and the people. there just isn't enough power to go around. good job mr bundy you are one of the very few who realize the feds are not your friend. stick em once for me!
