Military Vet with Service dog denied entry to restaurant
A military veteran with more than two decades of service was asked to leave a Houston restaurant this week because of his service dog — and law enforcement upheld the restaurant*s decision.
Aryeh Ohayon, an Army and Navy veteran, told KHOU-TV that his service dog, Bandit, helps him cope with post-traumatic stress disorder.
“He*s the alert if I start to have a panic attack or start to go into a flashback mode,” Ohayon told the news station.

Ohayon takes Bandit with him everywhere. On Tuesday, that was the Thai Spice Buffet II.
Ohayon says he was denied service at the restaurant because of his dog. Once outside the building, he told KHOU, he called police, but when an officer arrived, he was met with a response that he didn*t expect.
“I told him what my disabilities were. That*s when he said, ‘you*re not blind,*” Ohayon said.

I would figure this falls under the people with disability act. With that said the dog should have had some kind of identifier that it was a service dog clearly visible. The fact that the man was a veteran should not be a factor but he should be awarded the gratitude deserved for his service. If he wasn't a vet and the same had happend it should still be just as important of a situation.

well they might have saved his dog. it was a thai restaurant, and the cook might have wanted to cook his dog.  i agree with shotgun though, vet or not, AND if the dog was properly tagged, as a service dog, he could own that resturaunt and sue the city for discrimination, or for allowing discrimination. |

I agree with Charles, somebody knew what happened to the last service dog that stayed too long! It's a shame for the vet, and i cant believe it happened, with all the stories u see concerning people and service dogs
