Soooooo back to the originally scheduled program....(lol)

I think it mostly pertains to breed standards, or personal preference, or if you have an adult dog that is prone to 'happy tail' and keeps busting it open over and over to where it can't heal, so the owner will just have it docked.

Heck, I thought you were serious and you had me thinkin' I've been wrong about this whole tail dockin' deal?  Hence the high IQ figured out the error in docking a tails.  Now I'm really confused?

And why is someones job a factor in this discussion?  Undecided

I actually want to apologize to Barlow.  I don't know him and certainly don't want him to be offended by something stupid that I typed on the internet.  It's too easy to misinterpet what a stranger types on here and I am guilty of replying without first using my pee size brain.
I was pretty sure he was joking when he typed his post, but since I don't know him, I wasn't sure.  Either way, my response was unappropriate and wrong.

Barlow, I apologize.

No tail causes communication problems....

I have actually been told the same thing, dogs express themselves a lot with their tails. But like MANY others things pertaining to the dog world, it's all about personal preference.
