Ive had him caught up over 5 yrs ,the nite we struck him he was in middle of corn field,it had rained all day it was bout 2 in morning,i have 3 find dogs on the ground 2 catch dogs on bikes.its my daughter and me,we riding down turn row looking for sign,its a deep bar ditch hogs have to cross before they get to corn.we cut a good size track.dogs hit the corn boit 300 urds out i hear them start a bay.then shut up.then we hear the hog coming .he stops bout 100 yrds the dogs sound off he bays mybe ten sec. Can still hear him coming straght to us,i know he has to cross bar ditch to get to some thick stuff ,my daughter and me each get a cd and i tell her we going tirn loose wen he slides down ditch,and we do and the fight is on,he hooks one right under the jaw and throws him. The other cd never gets to catch hog is knocking him off this happened in 30 sec.my other 3 dogs come flying off the bank,baying there butt off he flys out ditch,with my 3 find dogs with him,i lost one catch dog there in that ditch,we look other cd over dont c know cuts.so i pull out beep beep,track them bout a mile to the east,so we haul butt to catch up ,iam tracking as were catching up,keep getting deep.so its a rd they have to cross mybe 3 miles,we haul butt to truck load up and try get ahead of them.get around they have crossed find were they did same track,so i pull out beep beep make sure all dogs are together ,2 are east of rd deep.one is west iam getting on low we call wait 20 mins track same spot,so i get pistol and walk in with tracker 300 yrds in i find dog bleed out.thats 2 ive lost 2 hog.and dogs have stayed with him 3 miles in straght line.get bk to truck daughter said she hears them baying to the east.so i track and thats were they are. So we drive around to another rd ,and listen nothing so i track again,they have crossed rd still heading east,its breaking day now.we go around to another rd.pull oit beep beep i got them on low,so we sit and listen ,ten mins went by,then that start singing a song to him,there 400 yrds are so,we get bull dog and head to him,get bout 50 yrds,turn cd,and haul butt,ole hog was so tired.cd caught we flipped him tied him got bike drug him out ive feed him everyday since.

One of my running dogs had a bad deep cut in throat he had lost alot of blood,i buried him 3 days latter,ive trained lot pups on the ole boar we have caught,have let him breed some,i will mount him one day,i figure he was 250 then with 2 inch teeth knew how to work them.his ears was tore up from past dogs,from start to finish i figure it was 7 miles straight .he ran straight.   |
