You have to be a registered member to post on this board, but you can view it without being a registered member.
To help keep anti types as well as help boost funding for the TDHA why not make it so you cannot view, much less post on this board with out being a registered member.
Membership requirements: 1) new members must be voiched for by a current member! and 2) proof of TDHA membership!

Because if it were a private board we would not have near the membership that we have now. Most people like to read the forums a while and see what we're all about before they join. Most private boards I view have little or no activity. And while we support TDHA 100%, I can't make it mandatory for someone to join just to be a member of these forums. We have members from many states besides Texas and some outside the U.S.

yeah, we have at least 3 of our aussie members that would probably be a little miffed at that second requirement. lol. and i would not want to require someone to be a TDHA member just to view our boards. they should join because they want to and should, not because we made them do it. in my opinion making the boards being private won't stop an anti from registering if they are looking for ammo to use against us. our signup process is pretty easy and quick. the best thing we can really do is to regulate the boards so as not to give them any unnecessary fuel for their extremist views. we do a fairly good job of that i think... as a member your input is very valueable though, so always feel free to post up any ideas

What are the requirements to become a TDHA member. Do you think its possible for an ANTI to become a member. Just because you require membership doesnt mean its fool proof. I think it more important to watch what pictures we post and what we say.

I agree, I think we should keep the RIP posts to PM's as well. Those types could be saving all those posts as well as pictures.

Hey this is America I think you should post whatever you want instead of hiding it,I know theres laws and stuff but I dont recall one saying its illegal to hog hunt and if rip's and pics are part of it then whats the problem? If the anti's don't like it then don't look at it!!! Thats what this board was started for and thats the way it should stay. Hog hunting with dogs is not animal abuse like everyone thinks its just letting the dogs and hunters do what they love to do.

I don't know what is the best way to handle this! I do know that some of the pics posted on the internet are what some of these groups are using aginst us as dog/hog hunters. I don't like it anymore than you guys, but I don't know the answer!

Clearly watching what we post and say is a must. As for the TDHA, why dont more members of the TDHA just start posting on the TDHA forum, that would generate more traffic to the site and help membership.
Not saying we shouldnt use ETHD, just seems like the membership of TDHA would want thier site to grow thus growing the membership.

I don't understand how posting on the TDHA site will increase membership. For the most part, the only people who visit the TDHA forum are already members. Isn't it the non-members that TDHA is trying to attract? My opinion is that the TDHA forum is "cluttered" Heck, the first forum has 8 stickys, the second forum has 10 redirects, out of 20 topics. That said, it's much better than it has been in years past. You see many of the same stories posted on TB, Jagdhunt, TxOutdoors, ETHD, TDHA, As it is, ETHD has the most hog dogging traffic AND a board setup specifically for TDHA, I would argue that alone gets TDHA as much "advertising" as any other method currently employed. With that said, I am all for TDHA trying to gain membership, as I believe in strength in numbers. It's my opinion that there needs to be an effort to attract bird doggers, coon hunters, duck hunters, etc...Hog dogging is just a small percentage of what the TDHA is about...it's time for TDHA to support some of the other venues, and in return, they will gain membership through the newly aware hunters at those venues. Same way the numbers have grown to what they are currently, TDHA has supported hog dogging, and hog dogging has supported TDHA. Diversification WILL attract new members. My .02

Even the TDHA members dont use the forum that is my point, so why would anyone else use or even read them if the membership wont. Why would a bird hunter ever start useing the TDHA forum when the hog hunters that started the TDHA dont use them. I am not saying useing the forums will boost membership all that much but if we as members dont use them why would we ever expect anyone else to use them or join. I was a member on the TDHA forum for several mths before I ever joined the TDHA, and I know others have done the same. I wanted to see who and what I was thinking about joining.
Diversification is a must and for now what better way to do that than online thru useing the forums. Clearly the more traffic a site has the higher it comes up in a search and of course ETHD comes up before TDHA, not that is bad. I have some bird doggin friends and they have looked at the TDHA forum (bird doggers like forums) and they said there was no interest shown there, "even from the hog doggers that made it". Now if they feel there is no interest even from us, what does that tell them about how we feel about the organization as a whole?

Hey guys & gals! As I read a few thoughts posted on what we should or should not post and as far as the "Anti" Hunters using our posts and pictures against our sport I came across the thought of putting a "watermark" on the picture making it personal property and infrangible. I have no idea how this legal matters work but love posting and reading stories and looking at pictures others would like to share. Any thoughts on this idea??

The Tdha website seems cluttered because it is our only form of communication to the membership at this time. There is literally a whole non-profit organization being ran off that forum. Take all the files, manuals, and what ever else you have on your desk at your job and put it all on one website so every one in the office can find and read what you have. I will add again that Tdha is looking for a person or persons to help get info organized and to our webmaster. It took me about 2 days to get things some what organized as they are, not to mention what the other bod did... on top of keeping up with day to day. As always guys, lots of good ideas but unless there is man power to back them nothing will ever become if it. We are overloaded and behind as it is right now... ask Steve or some of the others trying to work with us. Its an endless list and can be frustrating. Thanks to those who have stepped up to help out and thanks to the ETX guys for showing so much sopport on their board. It is greatly appreciated.
