Had to pull a young female cur dog cross off a hog last night as she was caught on a hogs leg under water. She didn't come up for air. When I pulled her up she gasped for air. She does have some pit in her but not a lot. Any one else have or had a cur cross that would drown before letting go ?

1/2 Outlaw Cur 1/2 Campbell Cur.  I'm worried I'll be burying her sooner than later.

I gotcha buddy I run super rough catchy dogs and we hunt off creeks and the trinity so I know the fear of the water I get worried but if you run another dog that catches with her they might not get to the water every time. The not letting go in the water is down fall with mixing the pit in there

I used to have a cur like that, was southern bmcba reg, but had a lot of foundation dog in the lineage. Heart worms got him, but he would latch hold no matter the size or on land or in water, but nvr had him go under' he would usually latch to the ear or cheek. He dang near suicidal. 1 of his sons didn't fall from the tree either.
