Caliber Ultra... no fillers, slick/healthy dogs, and it's at the local feed store (support my locals and don't have to drive a half hour to buy). $23 for a 50 lb. sack where I am.

There are several posts on this topic...search for it and you could probably find all the info you want.

Use to feed purina pro one. Very good feed dogs did great on it . I tried diamond natural and the dogs like it. They have maintained a healthy appearance and stool has continued to be good as well. Plus side is it cost me .79 a pound where the purina was over &1.00.

I want to ask all you boys that feed dogs this question  .  do any of you save your purchase points and go to the manf. web sites and see what kind of deals they offer ?  I found out that purina has the best deal going and have a heck of a program . up to 7 bucks a bag in rebates I was told , but I haven't gone and checked it out as to how reliable the info was . I do know if you save enough purina points you can get a garmin .  sportmix is a big promoter of the akc hunts and I bet they have a pretty good program as well . caliber has a small program but nothing like purina  .

I've been using sportsmix 24/20 for quite a while now (at least 1 1/2yrs)  I can honestly say that it really changed a couple of my dogs for the better and there are a few members here that can vouch for it. I noticed within the first few weeks of using it that my dogs had WAY more stamina later on in the hunt, it seemed to give them that extra edge especially for my older dogs. It is the best feed i've ever used honestly. Just wish they would quit raising the price!!!

I've been feeding Sportsmix for a couple years. I've tried different feed and none has been as consistent and beneficial to my pack that Sportsmix black/blue. I'm really liking the Blue bag right now.

I wish I had known about this. There is no telling how many bags of purina I have fed. Never kept a single UPC. Feeding 10 dogs purina for years no telling what I coulda got.

Looked it up and purina gives 11 points per pound. A garmin astro is 50,000 points. It would take 4,545 pounds of feed to get one. At the amount I fed my dogs I coulda got 1 in about a year lil over. With what I'm now feeding I save at minimum $.21 a pound. With the same amount of feed I can save $954. I could buy 2 Astros in the same time frame. I still wish I had known because I liked the feed and the way my dogs looked on it. I have now found a feed I like that is cheaper and won't change back for the difference in price.

yeah hairy I went from sportmix to loanstar to caliber  didn't notice any difference other than price .  caliber has a redemption plan on there p.o.p [ proof of purchase ] lablels on the bottom back of package . they have a few offers to give . advertising money , a banner they will send you with a kennel name and so many points will get you some free feed . hell it's worth checking into instead of just burning the bags points and all   . I haven't counted up my points but I have several tons worth lol  .
