I have heard some really good things about them...I have 3 half parkers and I like the 2 I hunt...the other is only about 10 weeks old...I don't know what kind of nose the pure parker has...can't be too bad because they find hogs...

Training dogs is not about quantity, it's more about timing, the right situations, and proper guidance...After that it's up to the dog... A hunting dog is born not made...

I have two gyps. Had another one, but a hog got her good last week, and she didn't make it. She was really turning it on. She was starting to make a heck of a dog. She would normally cast 800-1000 in no sign, but has been farther. She was a little skiddish in the pen, but never any trouble in the woods. She was almost 3. One I still have is a little over 3, but she is a shorter ranged dog. She normally casts 5-700, in no sign. Doesn't have as strong a nose as the other one did. Both of those dogs were out of Rock. Just picked up another 2 1/2 year old gyp, don't know much, and I haven't taken her to the woods yet. Only had her a week or so, so she is just getting settled in. I will say that it took awhile for the other two to get used to things. Seem to be pretty much one person dogs. The one that got killed didn't like anybody but me, and my little one. She would growl and bark at anybody else. Nephew hated feeding her when I was gone, lol. I have seen some that didn't make the cut, just like any other line of dogs, but I like them.

I've got one I got from a guy a month ago. He's 10 months old and he already kinda hunts by himself and ranges pretty good sometimes. Kinda wondering what to expect from a Parker. I've never hunted around any before.

Sanman, That is about as fine a cur dog as I have seen. Nice leggy dog with great feet.

Where and what did the Parkers originate from? I never heard of them until a few years ago.

This is what mine looks like. Kinda a small framed dog. He struck this big boar as his first hog at 9 months old at 250 yards. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I337 using Tapatalk

Sadly to say, she is the one I lost last week. Still makes me sick to my stomach. Been twice since then, and you can see how much weight she was pulling for my other mutts, so they got some stepping up to do, lol. She was Rock x Pixie( Rowdy 2 x Minnie). Had big plans for her when she got a few more hogs under her! Apparently, Pixie died, and think this cross was only made once! I know where that hogs living, and got a nice sharp knife for them figs, then sausage!!

I have one that's a lil over three years old, named Rambo. I picked him up earlier this year from a guy who hadn't hunted him in over a year. He gets better and better each hunt. I'm really impressed with him.
