What's out there on the market (can be bought WITH OUT a chemical license) that will get pond moss and what looks to be young Lilly pads under control? That chit is taking my pond over, and NO my pond hasn't turned over, the fish and turtles are thriving, but it's getting to where I can't sit on the dam n watch the water animals move around. The Lilly's are from the edge out between 5' and 10' then a thick layer of moss just under the top of the water.

Not sure if you need a license to buy it or not but when I took an aquaculture class the main chemical they said to use was copper sulfate

Man, ain't none of this stuff cheap! But I guess if it gets rid of the bulk of the moss, then ok. It would b nice to be able to lv some for the fish to have some hunting ground but it looks like these items kill all plant life. Would spit spraying work?

The dead vegetation after spraying will eat up the ponds oxygen so spray small parts at a time.

Yes sir. Thats what i iv been reading up on.
but when i refered to spot spraying, i was talking bout keeping some moss in there for protection for the fish from predators and a hunting ground for the fish n turtles.

Found some of the same products at tractor supply for a little less, not counting shipping and a hazmat surcharge. Since I can get it local, I'll giv it a try n hope it helps.

We sprayed a tank out here with something called sonar that is really working on the Lilly pads and is suppose to kill all the vegetation but it's hard to tell if the moss is dying yet

That sonar chit is like $400 for a 8lb bucket of it and it only treats up to .5ac, which is bout what I would need unless u count the total cubic volume, then I would need 2 8lb buckets.

I'm fresh out of ducks, n they won't stand a chance with the yotes, owls n hawks I have here. Heck, when I shred my pasture I got a hawk that will perch itself in a tree n wait on the field rats n get it's fill in 1 day. I think that's what got my 1 day old piglet I wanted to keep. Plus the ducks would eat both my gardens n I'm already fighting off the rabbits n pigs

Diuron granules.  1/2 lb per surface acre.  Treat small areas at a time.
