Series premiere on GAC watching now they using dogs and horses to catch loose cows off of highways and roads. Interesting more than most other shows on tv!!!

My daughter works at a country club and they filmed out there removing a wild goat from the fairway that they brought with them and turned out.

well i watched it and i'll have to say, there were some good hands and horses on there but tv producers can sure make you look dumb !

        but i did learn some things .

1  it takes at least 4 men to catch and load a 1000  # bull .

2 all bucking bulls are mexican fighting bulls .

3 all longhorns have 7 ft horns and weigh 1800 #

4 you can't use dogs on longhorns for safety reasons but you can on mexican fighting bulls lol

5 a trailer full of ropin steers can turn over and not skin up a blade of grass . 



     
i guess i been doing it wrong for years , last year me and another guy caught and loded a 2400 # bull without the tv producers supervising .

Have not seen the show yet, but on the notes you said:

1) when we call out cowboys for cattle or horses loose most come with a min of 3 in the crew
2) half are scared to rope a rank acting bull
3 & 4) LOL they don't want to touch those and only one brings dogs
5) never seen that either and seen a lot of wrecks
6) can't get them to come out 80% of the time as "working already" "out of town" or drunk

I keep telling he just needs to buy the stuff and hire a hand or let me do it LMAO

I just want to say I'm not knocking them at at all the guys up here are cowboys just saying what my daughter told me. The Wise county crew and Mickey Gees crew are both filmed up here around where I live.

I WOULD do it if I could being as I work for the local Sheriff's Office I CAN NOT due to conflict of interests(against law to collect two county checks). Although I am trying to get them to open a livestock division where I can do it for them without being a conflict. Secondly I am stating the FACTS of MY JOB as I deal with these guys  A LOT, and have seen. I only know of TWO cowboys we can count on to show up UNLESS already working for somebody else as I stated. I do work cattle on my days off when my buddies need an extra hand. I only know of a HAND FULL of true cowboys that I would give that title to, and a lot more wanna be cowboys that think because they have a horse go to jackpots or work cattle in open pastures they are cowboys. I put myself through college catching cattle left behind by these type of "cowboys" when the cattle became too rank for them or got into thick brush. So before you run your mouth find out something about who is stating something.

Just another staged reality show about a couple of "sell out " cattle families.  With a name like National Champion, that boy was destined for reality TV   Lots of fancy rope swingin and critter chasin to no avail.  Although I have seen and episode or two with some dogs being led around on ropes, they seem really worthless to me. Couple of truly "rough" cur catchdogs would make short work of "most" of those situations. I will give them credit though, staged or not, it takes a sure nuff man to head rope a growed bull and tie off hard on horseback.
