here is the picture where i killed the hog im sorry for cleaning his teeth to get the best picture that i could get if you ever killed a hog that big i would imagine that you would clean the teeth your self i will post a nother picture in the morning of another boar i killed to night in the rain that had some good teeth on it but i hav to run to walmart and get some fake teeth Grin Grin

It amazes me how there seems to always  be someone on here that is angry to the point they will dispute anothers word just for the contraversey. awesome hog man its great to catch a trophy hog, My partner adam caught this hog here while back weighted 309 and 4 1/4 teeth. Dont let the small stuff bother you. they give us hell about it also to. keep it up

top left was 5 1/2 it curled up an was goin in to the top of his snout
top right was 3 7/8 was broke off
bottom left was 4 3/4
bottom right was 4 3/4
and he weighted 304 with the guts in him

Good hog.

 What do you think makes those hogs toothy like that?  Boar hogs from the California hill country look identical to that.  You think its something with the terrain or genetics?

yeah ive seen alot of pictures of them hawaiian hogs and (not saying yours is small bodied)  but all of their pictures had like 100lb hog with 4" cutters

i think its genetics and age jmo............they mature slower in the hill country because they dont have the diet to grow faster like in farm country giving the teeth time to grow, again jmo

i think many of the hill country hogs are much older than people think, my dad believes a big ole boar like the ones jesse and i have killed over the years could be as much as 15-20 yrs old

I used the ageing plan someone has online dont remember who did it, and a lil 100 # boar with 1.5 inch teeth would have been 4-5 yrs old, most would have guessed this boar to be a year or two old at most, jmo but i think he was 4-5 yrs old

there are many different ideas about tooth growth and ageing these are just mine
