well we had went to this same farm a couple weeks ago and caught 2 a sow and a big shoat .....he let some other people go after that and they haven't caught anything got one bulldog killed and some baydogs cut up on a big hog ... I believe its the same hog not but a few hogs on that place .....they said had huge teeth and they shot at it with a  pistol when it trotted off they had 8 dogs on it ....I believe i'd a went home a  few less dogs if one trotted off and I had 8 dogs on it specially a real big fat hog ....anyway he called my son said he wanted us to come back I usually ain't much on hunt'n behind  others but I said i'd go ...... we  showed up unloaded and checked some spots and seen where one big hog had went in some big corn fields ...my old dog would get out 500 or so yards but never lined it out ....I told the man that is a big male hog I bet he circle through this corn looking for more hogs and went back cross that grassy road to that big swamp were you got rice about ready to harvest .....so we headed back through some trails that run about 100 yards parrellel to a rice field all at once I seen dried white mud and I stopped I said here's where they are ...there was that huge track and  a few more had crossed this atv trail in some grass both ways ...I said its not fresh its dried out but let me turn my old dog out and see what he does with it ....I turned him towards the field side and he left he circle in the old sign out to the rice fields then back ahead of us to the atv trail bout 300 yards and started comeing to us down the trail ...when he got to the buggies I whistled him to where I was standing where the sign had went in the bigger woods and I said sooey  sooey joe and I seen him pick up on the hog scent ...I knew it was day old sign but he knew it was hogs and they had went  that way ... I told the farmer  he'll  run that old sign up in there and it may run him into some better sign .... he circle in behind us and was gone a  while and we thought we heard him and my son said it just showed him sit down on the garmin and he set down bayed .....we started vesting bulldogs  its so hot we vest when we get ready to use em ....  anyway all I got is a male and female and they littermates and ain't caught on but about 3  hogs but that's what we got .....so we turned round and headed to him .. man talk about luck drove up to a dead end trail he was bayed 60 yards in ...we  had  2  young dogs out of joe and sent em to him .....then we sent the catchdogs ...when they hit we heard yipping headed out I said dang it broke ....about that time a dog set down bayed same place in front of us the catchdogs come back and all I can figure is joe left on the one that broke anyway they hit the big hog and he shook em and broke .....I told em they'll stop him he's to fat to run far .....300 yards we heard the 2 young dogs bay ...I said we better get there so e took off they had  him bayed in a ditch at a culvert in about 2 feet of water .....we looked no catchdogs .... I told my 2  boys ya'll take the garmin and go catch the catchdogs so they left ...we stood there watching the bay and I could see  he had  some sure nuff teeth on him sticking out ....man the farmer ahd a 243 in his hands and  he was wanting to shoot him bad ...  I said they comeing with the catchdogs he can't  go no where .....bout  that time my phone rang it was Louis my son ....he said we got one catchdog can't get a signal on the other and joe is bayed 660 yards .. I said hurry and bring the dog  you have .....they got to us and turned my young male catchdog loose he's a grandson of my old jerry  dog ..... anyway  he went to him and it was on ..... we ought round trying to get hold of him in the ditch Louis fell down and the hog almost got on him but he managed a legg and we got him drug out and tied .....I think my young gyp went to joe and broke the hog he had bayed ....she finally come back and we tracked joe for 2 hours  I know  baying and breaking the hog must have  been big my gyps vest is wrecked  in the chest ......we finally got close to him  about 1 o'clock man it was  some kind of hot ....he was in a growed up field about 40 acres big with trees 10 feet high and briars ....he bayed  a  few  times 10 or so barks  and  moveing again .....there was  some  bucking bulls in the ajoining pasture and they was acting nuts  all I needed was for them to tear  out or one of my dogs get on em so I told Louis  hold  on .....  you can't  call joe off  he want quit so I started running in crcles  out in that stuff and  we  run him down  Louis would say right  go  right and i'd  get after  it til e  got him caught whoooow  I was glad  to get out of there .....  joe had 15 miles on the garmin and we had lost signal several times .....it was  so hot I didn't try to weigh the hog but he was bumping  300  if  not  over ..........
