I think diff people are taking the meaning of this post two totally different ways lol I see the reason of posting is because it's bs to intentionally do something to try and hurt someone's dogs... If the dogs can take an earless hog or not is a whole diff topic. I didn't think he was saying hey now my dogs might die because there's earless hogs running because everyone knows it can happen anytime... He's just saying its bs to do it with the intention of hoping to put dogs at more of a risk..nothing to do with being afraid lol

Good job taking that hog out Monty , I don't understand why people Barr and release hogs in the first place much less cutting ears off. I thought the whole point of this sport was to catch and cash in, not create dog killers.

Cashing in to me is re supplying the Barr herd with more Barrs, so your view on the sport is very much different then mine!

Cashing in to us is removing all hogs caught and taking to the buyer. It don't matter on size, we do not Barr and release..

I have caught and barred several hundred boars on a high fence ranch several years ago and over 1/2 the ones we caught back looked liked they were surgically removed ! And there wasn't anybody hunting the place but me ! Seemed like the ones we caught in the hot summer time  the flies got on them pretty and the maggots cleaned the ear up !

X2 I've taken a hog we caught in the summer put in a 5 ac wooded pen and the ear it was caught on wasn't even chewed up at all but couple months later it was gone.

I use to turn a good bit of hogs aloose around the house and would see some later on that looked very similar and their ears would be gone from rotting off especially in the summer time when the blow flies are bad. It would be a smooth place where their ear use to be like it was surgically removed. About two weeks ago a guy killed a nice boar in a corn field about 10 miles from my house that was missing one ear and half the other ear and I know I haven't turned any loose without any ears in a long time but some have got out of my pen somehow that I knew would prob loose their ears  Huh?  Mr Bennett maybe that was just roaming the area passing through and I'm sure it's a few people from that area that read your post and appreciate the heads up.

Jesse Paul,

You been hunting around Bonham?  If so, I think there's a fella that might want to have a toe fight with you.
