I got a female that I breed to a male. She through some odd color pups that's not normal in her or his line. I want to get the pups DNA tested to see if they are off the male I intended them to be. When I look for the test I find where to get a test to see what the breed is of a dog but that's not what I'm looking for I'm wanting to be certain who the sire is. Any info on where I could get the pups tested?

The American Dog Breeders Association sells DNA swab kits. I'm pretty sure you could order one from them.

DDC Veterinary...Google them.  They are reasonably priced and quick results.

That's the ones I'm talking about. They send you swabs for the dog or pups and they tell you what breeds are in the dog. But both sires in question are the same breed. But different lines and I need to determine who sired the pups. I guess I need a kit to swab all pups and both males and they can say pups are off of male A or male B.

You're talking about two separate tests. They have a test specifically for determining parents when it's in question.

From what I saw in the ADBA Gazette the test kits are $6 but then it's $50 per dog when you send them in for analysis. I'd hafta know pretty bad to ck a whole litter and a couple studs.

DDC Veterinary...Google them.  They are reasonably priced and quick results.

Use these folks without a doubt.  I've used them twice and it is a smooth, fairly fast process.

I used DDC. I had pretty quick results & it was reasonable. The only problem, I went through every male on my place & no match. I DNA a couple of my buddies dogs & still no match. I did not want to go to the expense of doing all his male dogs so it ended there.

DDC Veterinary      Ph. #1-800-625-0874

Parent evaluation $38.00 a dog.
Coat color testing options $58.00 per dog.
They have other options but I did not have time to scan the paper.

Mayb I read something wrong. U bread a gyp to a male. ? Do u not no what male that was or r u trying to figure what colors r in the parents DNA. But then u say your trying to see if it's the dog u intended to breed to. So do u need a blood test or test to determan who the odd colors came from ?
