At first, they acted real lethargic and wouldn't eat for a few days. I just they were sore because they all tangled pretty good with that hog.

But a week later, one of their testicles started swelling... on all three dogs. The vet assumed it was canine brucellosis, but after two lab tests... it was swine.

One dog pulled through after three month long rounds of antibiotics, but two had to be neutered.

I just as guilty as anyone else, but in reality we should be wearing some type of gloves (probably like latex) when handling (sticking, cleaning, etc) any wild hog.

That's some scary stuff,,,,,especially when you skin hogs all the time. Another thing that you need to watch out for is that tick fever. I got it a few months back and never thought about it. I pick ticks off of me all the time from running through the woods and never gave it much thought till a couple months back when I could not get out of bed and every bone in my body hurt and I am in good shape. My doctor asked me about everything but that as far a diagnoses and then he asked me if i am around ticks and I told him I was an AVID hog hunter. He had to send my blood to A&M to some vet to get it checked. LOL but he give me some pills and after a couple of days I was on the way again.
