The potential for a hog that weighs 2000 lbs, a snout 2 feet long and tusks as long as an elephant's? that can run up to 70 MPH? WTH? That's what they are talking about.

i watched that when it first played. i thought that was crazy. but it goes right along with the discussion that was on the thread bout giant boar. how all the conditions would have to be perfect for that to happen.

I understand they said the potential was there in perfect conditions. But let's say half perfect equals half that size? That is spooky in itself. Can you imagine jumping your dogs out and striking a 2000 lb hog that can run 70mph? There would be no stopping it unless you just got off a lucky shot with a large caliber rifle.
Holy cow and we thought 464lbs was a good one!!

That was about 30 minutes of my life wasted that I will never get back. Monster pigs that run 70mph. They went slam to Russia and only got a picture of eyes. Recon they didnt think to leave the camera out ALL night. And I would have been darned ashamed to go on tv and say I lost 14 dogs to one hog. Something was wrong there and it probably wasnt the hog.

I saw it awile back, while being overly dramatic and the eyes of a suppossed boar they got a picture of in russia was dumb, I didnt think it was that bad, it actually showed dog hunters, and didnt trash us for a change. It's definately something for all dog hunters to check out I thought.

I came away with that thought too. Especially when they were catching hogs in town. KInda puts a useful spin on doggers that folks may not have had before.

Yeah at least it made those city folk realize that hogs arent some little defenseless creature, and showed that what we do is a good thing.

It scared me. Now I am sitting on my couch eating munchies waiting any minute for a "wild boar" to break down my door and attack me on the couch.............. Some of the show wasn't too bad but some (like the staged hunts- why else would they turn the boar loose if they are trying to eradicate them?) and the part about the hogs breaking into peoples houses and such...come on......

I had just seen bits and pieces the 1st time. Just sat down and watched all of it. They didnt kill " The Bear Hog" on TV. He had been caught some time before and that old fella said he was about the worst he had crossed. Which brings up my question. They said he killed 14 dogs. 3 when they finally caught him. Is that really that far fetched ? Could a sue enough bad hog bay , kill 2-3 digs and break away and then do it again the next time he's run? There was a bunch of added docudrama, but I think it still sheds a good light on how much the hogs are spreading, the damage they are doing and using dogs in places that you wouldnt want to be shooting in.

Yeah where was the picture of the "Bear Hog", if I catch a hog that has killed 14 of my dogs already, I'm taking 100 pictures and framing one in my house, right next to his stuffed head
