I hunt in the rain a storm won't stop me unless it a heavy one. I have always done good in bad weather

In my area it keeps the poachers slowed down for a night or two.

I have done it. Only issue I have found is it can make it harder to get on a track. Once on a track I have seen little difference. Finding a hog in its bed can be tough. I have seen dogs work a spot in the rain then we stood there 20 min or so and one of the dogs finally tripped over one about 30 yards out.

Winding a hog is the only way it seems cuz they don't move much and if they are they wash away quick

Whenever I hunt in the rain, I seem to spend more time getting unstuck than hunting. I pent hours in a thunderstorm a couple years ago trying to track a dog with the old quick track- that wasn't fun and I was liking the idea of holding that antenna.
Heavy rain= I stay home.

Training dogs is not about quantity, it's more about timing, the right situations, and proper guidance...After that it's up to the dog...

We've hunted in the pouring rain and had success and also come up empty, so I think there is a lot of luck involved in it. Tracks are hard to stick to when rain keeps washing them away. One thing to think of is if it is cold, and raining dogs and yourself could catch hypothermia easily. I'm thinking about running tomorrow in the rain at a spot my buddy loaned me. Should interesting since they are calling for 100% chance of storms. I just want to get the dogs out cause it's been so long since we've been in the woods.

we have got caught in the rain...hard rain is not good because can not hear the dogs and dogs can't trail very well...light rain all day is a good day...
as a little boy I ran dogs almost every day and I knew where to hunt for different game especially after a big rain...all animals look for high ground...and animals that go to a hole in the ground are sitting on top because the holes are full of water...usually was a great day for me and my dogs...

Lol well we hunted in the storm that came trough last night and found everything that was in the woods, just no hogs. Lol they must have moved out. It's alright though. I'm ready to not have to worry about deer season and hunt in the mornings.
