I got this from my grandad years ago and if your far from the truck it wks great take a 4-1/2' to 5' old seatbelt and sew loops on both ends and tie 2' of rope to the ends tie the head as short as possible and put the seatbelt across the chest and start getting it it beats holding a lead r rope and aloes u to use all legs

I don't drag many hogs out, but I drag deer every year.  I do kinda the same thing I use one of these (the cheap one that comes with every tree stand anymore), and run the tree strap abound what ever needs dragging.

Drag hog under heavy overhanging limb, reel out enough winch cable to toss over, hook to tied hog and winch hog up, push it or drive up under it, let it down on your front rack. Finding a sturdy overhang is always the problem, never one where u need it when u need it.

Sometimes that's not option IF u wanna keep ur hunting permission and property. It sucks to kill and leave lay,I don't agree with it, but hogs are a nusience animal and farmers/ranchers want them gone, not set free to destroy more land. Iv killed and left lay in the past, but it is what it is.

That's why I like hunting old school on horses you don't have to drag nothing!!

I also had an older guy tell me he always carried two ropes that way he could just walk the hog to a point where he could get his truck to it

Here is a good example how to carry a hog out if no wheeler access is available and a lot less friction than dragging

Done it the same way, shove a big enough limb between its legs and heave-ho and go. It worked for me, just if ur hauling to hogs at the same time, put them mouth to mouth or they will bite you, trust me, I know from experience. Anyways, that hog on the limb looks alive to me, the head ain't hanging low as if it were dead, unless rigor has already set in.

Drug this one out alive. Half hitch the bottom jaw or top which ever is better for hog. Then half hitch the snout shut with same piece of mule tape. Then tie in a stick handle.  Have your partner tie in a stick handle on the tag end of the hog tie and get after it.
