Anyone out there use dogs for coon, coyotes and other varmints?  If so what breeds and how do you run them? Just interested in the different ways people do it.

Use to coon hunt ALOT with treeing walkers. We just casted them out ,listened to the track and waited on them to tree. Wouldnt let them get more and 5 or 6 hundred yards out without heading in there direction. I never wanted to be a mile or 2 away when they finally treed. I always like a short hunt but my coon dog would go as far as he needed.

We hunt cats coons and lions with walkers and trig dogs we just road them down the road and when they hit a track we turn the truck of and listen to them when they get far we drive closer and stop again tell they tree then walk in and if it's a lion we shoot it if it's a cat or coon we jump um out and run um again if the dogs ain't wore out  love to watch a big bad coon fight dogs

Well I have a pretty diversified group of dogs heeler, texas terrier and blue lacey. They will run holes, a little tree but I like to call and sick the dogs on coons nothin better than watching them fight a coon.

Hunted for a while the other night with no signs what so ever and my young male ran across three coons haha. Guess this doesn't count but my coon hunting buddy was sure happy lol. I was happy that it took little correction to get the dogs hunting againthese trees were about ten foot apart so I figured the coons were hanging out together and the male just ran up on them.

I love a good coon hunt. I had a wild card walker dog that would flat out get it done ( sometimes). He was about a 80 pound dog with a big giant head. He sounded awesome working a trail through the woods. Especially when its cold and it just seems way louder and echoing like crazy.
