Sam is going toi be 5 at the end of December. He has loved my dogs since he was old enough to walk. This is the earliest pic I have of him with one of my dogs. He's about 2.5 in this pic. First a piggy back ride through the briars. Then we practice climbing trees because pigs can't climb trees. Finally after waking up way to early, taking a really cold boat ride, and walking forever we get a solid bay. He tells me he is going to kill that hog. Kill that hog he did. I only helped push the knife in a little. We got home and he tells my wife, "I stabbed that pig in the stomach, and I broke his heart." After lunch and a well earned nap, he was ready to hose out the kennels and feed and water the dogs.

Good job and story. I take my step son (9) and my little cousin (12) every chance i get. I dont have many hogs where i hunt but i like to introduce them to the woods and things besides video games when ever possible. And my dogs aint the best so sometimes we go on a hog hunt and just end up piddling around the woods catching crawdads in the river or anything to keep them interested. My cousins dad is a dumb a$$ and dont have nothing to do with him so i been lookin out for him the best i can since he was a baby. He loves me for it to and that makes it worth every minute. I think kids now days have been ruined by electronics and the absence of good ole country a$$ whoopings. I have heard kids say things to there parents these days that my backside would still be on fire for saying. Sorry for rambling in your thread. Good looking kid and looks like he had a good time! Keep up the good work !

Thank yall fellas for the kind words. And i have been blessed. Im only 27 years old and ive got one hell of a good woman, i work for myself mostly doing sheetrock and painting. My wife is a 911 dispatcher. We are in the process of buying a little fixer upper house on 13 acres. Its a tiny house and needs lots of work. But it sits less than 40 yards from a major river. Were flat broke more times than not but we are happy. Alot of people fuss and fight and alot of relationships end on the count of money. My wife would kill me if she knew i told anybody but we have went a couple weeks without power and bathed in that river before. We dont mind. People done it for thousands of years. And hell we will get the power cut back on. A little candle light will make things happen for ya to...lol...what im trying to say is we dont get bent out of shape over money. And it sure has helped us ride out the hard times. Didnt mean to post all this in this fellas thread either..thank yall

You guys are doing an awesome job...those kids will grow up and they will remember how well you treated and raised them...and then they grow up and come back to acknowledge and thank you for all you have done...it's a feeling beyond awesome...

Training dogs is not about quantity, it's more about timing, the right situations, and proper guidance...After that it's up to the dog... A hunting dog is born not made...
