Like the song said (Long and lean, every young mans dream).  Brindle cur hound cross, sure partial  to ring neck, have to have a good ear, deep voice.

If I only ran hogs I would find a good Finely River bred Walker that had a good nose and would flat go a hunting and breed him to some nice BMC females.   Probably something off Clue Anderson's line of cow dogs or some of them south Texas Bred BMC's.   Anyway, Walker and BMC worked great for me several years ago.

What happened to the days where people bred just curs or hounds. No offense to anyone but it just blows my mind to see all the crosses people are coming up with now a days .

I know what you mean judge I've got my eyes open for the right hound to use as an outcross on this line if curs that I have now. I just can't get over the crosses people are making nowadays. I guess if the wheel fits then roll with it.

In my opinion, some of these crosses are just people lookin for a shortcut to get where they want to be. Sometimes in breeding linebred dogs you have to be lookin 2 or 3 generations down the road. That takes a lot of patience and not everyone has that!

I think most people do crosses with the mindset of creating a dog that will best suit their specific needs.
Honestly, I see nothing wrong with that. To each their own.
