I Used to have a pair of dans heavy duty chaps that were factory stitched onto a pair of muck boots. I just called them hip waders. I loaned them out never to be seen again. But they were real comfortable and water proof. We hunted around alot of creeks and swamps so they were handy. I think they were about 150 bucks but worth every penny. They were briar proof and snake RESISTANT....HAHAHA...I know about that part but they were good boots for sure.

I am getting a pair of dans snake protector hip boots myself. I hunt at night during summer and we have tons of cotton mouths and copperheads around here. I have wore lacross alpha sport knee boots for years and need a new pair. These boots will have lacross mud lights sewn into the snake protector chaps for $50 more than what I normally pay for boots. I don't know if I would say they are the best boot for running dogs but I can say lots of folks wear them and coon hunters have worn them for years.

Right there with ya. Except for my snake boots when I was hunting in the marshes along the lake. Other than that, it's what ever I happen to put on that day is what I go in, be it justin steel toe work boots, blue jeans and denim long sleeve shirt or my bellville army surplus boots now for extra traction.

Yep, always an added bonus to have the extra shirt. Holds up better than to in a zip-loc bag any day, wet or dry

I have Schnee's pac boots.  I'm on my second pair of bottoms, first pair finally wore out and I sent them back to get new bottoms put on them.  They are easy to walk for miles in, very comfortable.  I am in the north and use them when the temps drop for snow and mud boots.  I prefer them to knee high rubber lacrosse/muck boots.

Here in australia most people just wear flip flops or at best an old pair of nike runners, lol, but I'm with you guys I like boots. So far I've only hunted in hiking boots and steel toed work boots, neither was quite right, will have to look into some of the boots being suggested here.

Thats what im talking about. Feet don't weigh 100 pounds when wet easy to put on and take off. And no one wants to borough them.
